I'm not making statements anymore. Already said enough. But while we wait for tonight, here is more review of what went down from another perspective

http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/nfl-s...late-own-football-people-draft-130339621.html

Brandon Jones of the Dallas Morning News recalled an exchange between Assistant Director of Player Personnel Tom Ciskowski and Chief Operating Officer, Executive Vice President, and Director of Player Personnel Stephen Jones during the team's live feed of the "war room" during the first round.
[Head coach Jason] Garrett, at one point, had a blank look across his face as he started rubbing his forehead with his hand. Ciskowski and Stephen Jones also had an animated exchange. It was a rare show of emotion by Ciskowski.
There's good reason for the Cowboys' actual football people to be incensed by the pick. Jones, whose only real football qualification appear to be his status as owner Jerry Jones' son, later told the media that the team had LSU safety Eric Reid in the mix as the second-rated safety on their board behind Texas' Kenny Vaccaro, who the New Orleans Saints took with the 15th pick, but thought there was more value in trading down and grabbing an extra third-round pick. The 49ers, a team that seems to know a thing or two about player personnel, immediately took Reid with the pick Dallas vacated.

And Frederick, for his part, told a Dallas radio station that even he didn't believe he'd be taken when he was.

Without any quotes, I don't see how one calls that an exchange at all.

:laugh1: reading facial expressions and interpreting them as 'journalism.'

I didn't like Floyd either although I would have picked Elam myself at 31.

That's a lot of speculation based on some facial expressions.

An explanation I read was that Dallas wanted Pugh at #31 and reacted when NY took him at #19.

During the trade, everyone was all smiles, including Garrett who also gave a big thumbs up signal. During the pick, the entire room was smiling and clapping and glad handing, including Ciskowski, Garrett and Callahan.

I watched the entire thing. To suggest otherwise is just lying.

Thanks for this. I didnt watch the feed but most of the "journalism" strikes me as made up, unvarifiable bull trying to stir up hate.

Pugh said they wanted him on a trade back.

If that is actually the case then either Long or Frederick were really the second OL they still liked. That or they were lying about still liking two OL.

Pretty much just details how/why Jerry Jones is a terrible GM and how he's the reason the Cowboys haven't won anything in 17 years, and why they won't win until he's gone.

Also, they're trying to sell Travis Frederick's jersey online!! LOL

I just had that quote out there. It was really about the whole picking Frederick and their thoughts on it. But agree, I don't buy into facial expressions. Though I'd be frustrated if all your prized guys left the board.

According to Fredrick himself when he was interviewed on NFL Sirius XM Radio, he thought he was a 20-40 pick. There were several teams that showed strong interest in him and Dallas was on. His agent said if Dallas traded back there was a good chance he was going in the first round.

He knew there was a chance he went in the first round.

Not that it needs verfiying, but I can also verify this. I missed the reaction to the trade. I have to say that watching the warroom video was very entertaining and enlightening.

Here's my honest interpretation of what happened. Everyone was fine with the trade because they assumed they could land Pugh at 18. Then Pugh went the very next pick, and Long right after that. They were probably very worried someone would grab T. Fred before 31. Then, when the Cowbos were up, everyone seeme relieved.

Do you have a link to the video?

I did not get to watch it.

No, Garrett looked visibly upset, then when it appeared the deal was made he put the company face on to signal agreement......Garrett looked highly frustrated most of the night

That's what it looked like to me. They were getting worried that the run on OL was still happening. The whole room exhaled when they got Frederick.
