Williams said Witt, 6 feet 4 and 220 pounds, has received a lot of attention from NFL scouts. The Nebraska transfer led the league in passing yards (2,216), completions (212) and attempts (351) last season. He was a second-team All-Ivy selection and the only quarterback in the league to complete more than 60 percent of his passes.

"It starts at that position because that guy touches the ball every snap," Williams said. "If the quarterback is managing the game and executing at a high level, you have a chance to win. That's the difference. Playing well starts with not turning the ball over, and the guy who touches it has the chance to not do that. … [Witt] has got the intangibles, but also the height, weight and speed that [NFL] guys are looking for, and he can make every throw on the field."
