All the "Coaches should be fired, Dak's garbage, OL's over rated, Kellen Moore got exposed, etc, etc, isn't any more true than the majority of stuff that passes for football conversation in this place.
The loss tonight was really pretty simple:
Fred-Beard, Martin & Williams got whipped on offense ... so ... the backfield was crowded with Saints before Zeke could get started AND Dak had very little time to throw ... so ... the receivers didn't get any separation (Gallup not being there or Cooper's ankle - or both, take your pick)
We did nothing to abate or slow down the rush, i.e., not one slant, not one screen pass and only two TE seam patterns, (fumble on one and longest completion of the night on the other), We did nothing to test the edges of the NO defense except one sweep and made no use of Pollard's speed
Defensive LB sets were too deep until the last series when they began to penetrate gaps and got the ball back
NO's receivers had separation on the drag patterns and we did not ... their corners were close and aggressive and ours were not
NO was the 28th ranked pass defense coming into this game and you cannot be that if you have an effective rush ... so, we must "assume" they do not have an effective pass rush - but apparently tonight they did ... which brings us right back to Fred-Beard, Martin & Williams got whipped on offense
And one other thing - perhaps NO wanted this one a bit more than Dallas on this given Sunday ... ya know, kinda like we did last year in Arlington.
Anyone really believe there was a meeting in Dallas this week where they said, "You know, we've been putting up so many points and yards so far that we ought to scale it back this week?"
None of us know why Cooper got two offensive PI's called on him or Cobb drops one that hits him in the hands ..
And I am SURE none of us recognize what exactly constitutes a penalty anymore ... which makes it all the more ridiculous to whine and vent. It is what it is ... a game where no one died.
Oh, and one more thought, I suppose by the logic of this Board, McVay out in LA ought to be fired too ... cause obviously they suck as well.
I'm sure everyone here who is complaining hits it outta the park EVERYDAY at their respective jobs.
Y'all keep on though - it makes for fun reading.
