i agree..too bad with the injuries. Woody's Girl is a Rockets fan...I wonder if they ever thought he'd be able to play again.

Yea I know. Just the thought that he's not much older than me and retiring.

Not a big surprise. Couldn't stay healthy. It's a shame really.

The bottom line is people arent meant to be 7'6", and they especially arent meant to play a sport at 7'6" that puts even more stress on that frame

He has been a great player and teammate. Houston hasn't had a lot of success with Yao on the team but it is hard not to love him and everything he brought to the game. It is sad to see him leave but it is also nice to see the team moving on from what was supposed to be a great Yao/T-Mac era.

So sad but it's been something that was painfully obvious from the moment he joined the NBA. I've said all along his career would never be very long as long as he felt that he had to play for China as well. That's just too much basketball without enough rest to be playing pretty much year round like he was. Especially on a frame like that.
