What a snoozefest the draftzone is becoming.

Other than the 500 threads started by cowboyjoe about division 3 googler prospects, this place has been dull.

Let's just be hypothetical.

Dez Bryant falls to 22.
Rolando McClain tumbles to 20
Anthony Davis is sitting at 24
Earl Thomas slipped past Frisco at 17 for some crazy reason and is sitting at 21.

Who do you trade up for and why?

Rolando McClain. No question.

I would be happy with McClain, Thomas or Davis. If I had to select one, I would lean towards Davis to add to the oline. Would be a tough decision, all would add something nice to this team.

Let's make it real interesting...I trade up for Gaither.

+1

The middle of our defense can use an upgrade in athleticism and playmaking. McClain would be a great start.

don't even have to see McClain's combine numbers--have seen him play and he's a stud--would do it--if we come out of the draft with 3 draft picks (McClain, OL, DB) I'll be happy--we don't need anymore special teamers--so trade up for three picks

Out of those possibilities I'm trading up for McClain without question.

Earl Thomas is my boy, but in this scenario I trade up for "Die Hard".....yippee kiyay mother ******!

I wanted to throw his name in there just for fun.

Anthony Davis, i am getting sick and tired of this line breaking down and Romo getting killed. Its time to start protecting him and the qb that follows him.

any of them because we can get great production
1.McClain not many linebackers come as good as him
2. Earl Thomas Ball-hawks with his ability come from no where
3. Anthony Davis
4. Dez Bryant

It would take a 1st, 3rd, and 4th just to move from #27 to #20...so think about that.

no question about it. McClain would be the choice. The guy is player and I do not care about his 40 time. He is so instinctive that he plays faster than his time.

Gotta love McClain!

On some teams, however, his edge speed would be an issue. I saw him make some amazing plays in the UT game, but he could not make it to the edge on more than one occasion--even with a clear line. If you have the game recorded, check it out. It is very apparent. But if he's with the Cowboys, I think our speed and 3-4 help cover that...and then he would wreck havoc and go to Pro Bowls on the inside for us.

I know. The charts are unrealistic because they don't take into account the quality of different drafts and where the drop-offs occur.

You do have a give up a ton to move up 7 slots in round 1 though.

yep but I think Jerry could pull it off it depends on who the team is targeting

I am all for getting quality this draft

As for my lessened involvement this year, I've chosen not to attach myself to any pet cats this year, as we probably wouldn't choose them anyway. It's a shame as well, because more than 70% of the players I like, we end up passing on and then the player blows up for some other team. So I'm just going to wait until after the draft to drool over the guys we do pick.
