i don't think it is, we're on the fast track to 6-10 and if firing him makes us go 5-11 under Garrett then at least we know not to waste our time with him next season. We just got blown out by one of the worst teams in the league, i don't see how things could get any worse. honestly i expect more of the same for the rest of the season if Wade stays on

5-11 isn't set in stone. There's hope things can get salvaged. What are we playing for? We have no first round pick to care about anymore. Playoffs is what is left right now. If Wade can salvage this mess and pull a 2 game streak, he should continue. He obviously is trying to change the culture of this team.

if he loses out until bye, its time to try to tinker with the formula. Fire wade? Fire stewart, demote wade? Fire wade, garrett, stewart, reed-promote campo as interim? Who knows.

I dont think Jerry can justify a 17-6 firing, and still keep the job attractive for future coaches.

The season could be over by the bye week, he has had 1 1/2 years to get this team playing at a high level and instead they are actually getting worse each and every week.

Enough of the excuses I want to see some action.

Usually you don't start seeing a new coaches changes until their second season with the team. I have not liked what I have seen, but this is a young team who might not listen until they experience these kind of things.

If Wade is fired now, what does that accomplish? It sends a message, but players already know they are on thin ice now. It tells everyone on the staff or on the team, that Jerry gave up on this season...and they should too. Our Superbowl aspirations for this season are over, now lets move on for the future. Your job is in jeopardy, you could be next.

That is one way to look at it. Another might be that Jerry is sending the message that poor play is not going to be put up with and he is going to do whatever it takes to right the ship right now this year. Jobs are on the line and you might be the next one sent packing,

It is all about perspective and getting people to buy into yours.

We'll keep seeing what we saw last night with Wade, we've had the same issues for 4 weeks now but until last night wade just made excuses for it which i'd bet is the main reason why we're still making the same mistakes over and over again. Do you really want someone pretty much denied that there was any problem and let it spiral out of control to the mess we saw last night coaching this team trying to salvage this season?

There's no way in hell we even make the playoffs they way things are going right now

You guys should read the Chargers MB-they're having the SAME complaints we are now..."Why don't we have leadership?", "Why does Ted Cottrell play alot of soft zones?", "Don't underestimate our injuries", "We invested so much in building our D, why is it underperforming?", "Our D is hugely overrated", "We can only win games if our offense scores 30", "Why are we so cocky?", etc, etc.

Who would have thought that over a year ago, Wade and Norv would take over the 2 most talented teams in the league, have alot of success for ONE year, then shoot them to the ground?

lol...I can't tell you at, but I can tell you how to not give up a TD to them.

Our losses are polar opposites.

A loss is a loss.

"We just lost by FGs" is LOSER TALK!!!!

We were pretty bad against Cleveland. But, hey, Cleveland has NFL talent and we beat them.

Congrats, you beat an NFL team with NFL talent.

Do you want a cookie now???

alot of coaches are saying this is a poorly coached team though...

it isnt that difficult to see...if Wade gets canned he deserves it...he was basically hired for one reason, his ability to coach defense at a high level.

Sure as hell can. SD fired Marty after a 14-2 season.

This team has been showing signs of slopiness throughout the season and I just don't think Wade has the tempermant, nor the cajones to reverse that trend. I mean after the Bungles game the guy was still using the crappy "it's tough to win in this league" garbage, even though it was obvious there were terrible patterns emerging. Yeah Wade, it gets even tougher when your team is taking a gazillion penalties, your special teams stink, your defense plays soft, and you are losing the turnover battle every single week.

I know a lot of you don't think this would be the answer, but I would bring Jimmy Johnson in as interim Head Coach and leave Stewart in play as DC. Leave Garrett as OC. Johnson worked with Houck before. I am not sure if Garrett was around with Johnson or not - probably not but I think we need someone like Johnson in there to get this team straight.

I don't think this is scheme related, this is just a leadership problem and JJ would come in and put people in their place and get this going in the right direction.

Fire Reed and bring Avezano with Jimmy!

My first choice would be Cowher as he would really fit with the defense.

Jimmy wouldn't touch this team with a 50foot pole

Jerry should just offer Cowher $20 mill & get his jaw in here ASAP!

This ship is sinking fast....

I think he would. A lot of talent which he did not have to assemble. I think he could get the performance out of these guys.

Jimmy isn't going to coach anywhere, especially here. And there's no way Cowher will take this job. Bill Cowher will have his choice of any openings that come along and you can take it to the bank that he won't go to Oakland or Dallas with their meddling owner/GM.

This team is done! Jerry babys them with money and wade babys them with excuses! Maybe they win 6 games this year!
