Was asked who he thought of in the NFL now when he hears the word "playmaker" . His answer suprised me, Anquan Boldin. Primetime said Adrian Peterson. At this point I think Randy Moss or Steve Smith. Hoping at the end of the year I am thinking Felix Jones.

When I think of playmaker in today's NFL, I think of Ed Reed.

I disagee with him (what a surprise) but it is amazing how many WRs out there think Boldin is the man. I know he was ahead of Fitz last year before getting hurt....he is a beast.

Sometimes there are some crazy opinions on that show. The question was posed as to "what player would you start a franchise with" and Jamie Dukes said Michael Vick (assume pre-doggiegate)---and then went into a long speech about why he would do so. Good grief.

Bolden top playmaker in NFL was an odd choice. I dont get it. Then he talked about corners learning to stop Fitz because he goes up for the ball. Must be some hidden agenda there.

You misheard him.He said CBs need to stop jumping with Fitz and learn to let him grab it then "strip" or "rake" his hands so he drops it.He said u cant outjump him so cbs must do this.

Randy Moss has made a living on “jump ball” catches. DBs have yet to stop him. His comments make no sense. Great WRs are great because of their skills not because of some gimmick.

In regular season, clearly playoffs have shown, when the competition increases, Randy Moss is nowhere to be seen. That Jump ball and long ball stuff works against weaker teams and weaker competition. So yeah, I have seen plenty of games where Randy and his Jump ball didn't work.

Now I do disagree with Irvin about Fritzgerald though. But he does have a point about how to defend Larry. Question is, apart from Namdi and maybe Newman or Champ Bailey, I don't see a CB that is so confident in doing that.

Mike also said the Cowboys could use Jesse Holley

:muttley:

And just like with Holley.. It's not a surprise that Irvin picked the top WR who most reminds him of himself. Boldin's big, strong, physical, and slow... That's Mike.

Haha. Great logic there. Let him catch it first, then try to jar the ball out. :laugh2:
There's a reason why this guy has the "best hands" in the NFL.

Irvin said nothing bad about Fitz...just that point that DBs could defend him better. He actually complimented Fitz as a great young WR, but said he prefers Boldin due to his perfect route running and brute force. I taped that show and re-checked. When you think about it, you can see why Irvin would favor the player most like him. :)

Maybe holding onto the ball after you've been raked is a skill Moss also possesses and for which Fitz hasn't been tested yet. Hmmm?

All Day without a doubt is today’s playmaker in my book, as for a receiver, I`d take Fitz over Q.
Anyway, I really enjoyed watching him, maybe I am biased because I love the guy but he is great on TV, someone needs to hire him.
