I don't know about you guys, but I LOVE the fact that the Dallas Cowboys are referred to as America's Team.

I also hate/enjoy the fact that other teams consistently try to take that tag away from us.

i think they're a bunch of copycats and just winning 1 superbowl doesn't make you a "super franchise".

they're talking cause they're in a good mood. why in the name of unholy norse gods we should give a dead rats pa-too-tie every time some other team refers to themselves as americas team i have no idea.

it's as much a kneejerk reaction on their part as it is for a cowboys fan to give a damn.

I think we should embrace the hatred. Which means we should laugh ourselves silly at another vain attempt to steal our nickname rather than get upset about it. Not saying you are.

Congrats Indy. You haven't got a prayer of ever earning that nickname. Snowballs have better odds in hell.

Quite obviously.... "imitation is the highest form of flattery"

AND....

how amusing.... we have not won a SB in 10+ years.... yet the winner of THIS SB has a tie in to our franchise..... talk about being a great organization..... we are out in first round.... yet to have our "America's Team" supercedes the Lombardi trophy...... maybe we should change the lombardi trophy to America's Team Trophy....:laugh2:

Last night I had to deal with all the Colts fans around here. I couple said saomething about being America's Team and I just shook my head and said they are a long way from that.

People really don't understand what America's Team means. It does not mean that everybody likes us or roots for us. It means that everybody has an opinion about the Cowboys. People love them or they hate them. There is little to no indifference when it comes to the Cowboys. That is why we are still America's team. People tune in to see the beloved Cowboys win or see the hated Cowboys lose. That is why our games are always among the highest rated on TV.
No other team stirs emotions the way the Cowboys do. Period!

Congratulations Indianapolis! You're the Champs, enjoy it. But remember, most people either like you or flat out don't care. Not caring doesn't cut it when you're discussing being America's Team.

P.S. Being Super Bowl Champs is better than being America's Team.

How about having a RB that could run and get yards??? Was it the defense throwing numerous INT's in their previous playoff losses or Manning??

Yes.... the defense did step up BUT the running game wasnt abandoned(Peyton knew that he had to stay with it) or he woud lose yet again.... give the D credit but dont forget to give the RB's credit too.

Put the game in Manning's hands and he will INT it away... down the drain... he showed flashes of that brilliance in SB... then handed the ball off.... smart boy, smart Dungy

Thanks for that Johnny.... I thought it also had something to do with us being close but not winning in 60's and early 70's.... always the runner up or real close but not closing deal.... someone posted about that one day
