Baseball would be more entertaining if their season was not so long. What makes football so great is you only play 16 reg season games so each one they play is important while in baseball it is 180 games? A team can afford to have a losing streak and still be in the hunt

And that month is going to go as slowly as if we were Richard Harris hanging by eagles claws from his ta ta's during the famous scene from 'A man called Horse', each and every day of it. (sorry youngsters.)

I haven't been so psyched up over a comming season since the early nineties and it's driving me frickin' INSANE! Thank God for alcohol and the internet.

No dbout my passion is football but if I have nothing going on I'll take in a baseball game. I work about a 2 blocks from Minuet Maid Park and will take in an Astros game from time to time.

Exactly DD101. With football you could be 16-0, lose the first playoff game, and it's over...............................They all mean something.

Yea i know teams can have a 10 game losing streak adn at the end of the season they winning the divsion, I mean let a team have a 3 or 4 game losing streak, and it's like hell trying to get into the playoff race, (ask carolina)

No doubt about it and as someone pointed out the finality of the playoffs, there is no series it is winner take all and loser goes home so the intensity is much greater

sometimes i wish it was a series to give a team more thna once chance at a team and to extend the playoffs, BUT my dreams of a shorter offseason wont ever come true

I don't think the players would want that, the physical nature makes it hard enough for player to finish a 16 week schedule let along a playoff series. A vast majority will have some type of proceedure when the season is done. I think the lenght of the season and the playoff format is just right for Football
