OK, now the combine is complete, a number of the pro days are in the books, and things seem to be settling themselves in terms of where the prospects are rated......

......or are they?

Here's the second go around of the ultimate experiment - kicking the Joneses out of the war room and running the 2022 NFL Draft for the Cowboys. Using the Big Board listed below, make the Cowboys selections as if you are the GM. The rules are as follows:

  1. No trades. Draft based on the Cowboys draft slots as they sit at this moment (picks 24, 56, 88, 129, 155, 167, 176, 178, 193).
  2. You can only pick players rated either at the number slot of your pick, or ranked below that number. For example, you cannot pick the #1 ranked player at #24, but you can pick the #27 ranked player.
  3. No trades of players on the roster for other slots in this draft. Only work with the existing selections that the Cowboys have in the draft as of today.
  4. Did I mention no trades?
Let 'er rip.

Boise St. Kellen Moore went to the Boise St. pro day most likely to watch this guy. Highly competitive (Sounds a little like Deebo) 1117 yards receiving 14.5 yards per catch 130 yards rushing 6.2 yards per carry
Overview
A coach's dream, combining competitive nature, exciting versatility and elite character on and off the field. For a short-armed player with average explosiveness, Shakir puts an emphatic stamp on games. He's more football player than prototypical slot receiver and needs to prove he can handle an increase in contested catches. He can be activated from a variety of alignments with the vision, wiggle and toughness to move the chains once the ball is in his hands. He finds a way to frequently show up on the notepad when watching tape and his will to outperform the guy across from him should not be overlooked. Shakir should become a valuable piece for a creative play-caller.

Strengths
  • High-character player.
  • Voracious competitive spirit and vastly versatile.
  • Receiver used on direct snaps, as a running back, on jets sweeps and in return game.
  • Motor rarely gives opponents a chance to catch their breath.
  • Laser-focused once the ball is snapped.
  • No down gear into the teeth of the defense as route-runner.
  • Low center of gravity for sudden route cuts/breaks.
  • Creates throwing windows with leverage, footwork and strength.
  • Concentration to make wild circus catches.
  • Relishes contact and can play through it.
  • Absolute menace with the ball in his hands.
  • Patient runner with vision and a foot hovering over the gas pedal.
