For host based defense you should checkout DenyHost.

If you are really anal retentive, you can use port knocking too.

The guy is trying to hack that computer, except that it's a honeypot. The guy doing the hacking is what most people technical people refer to as a script kiddie since he has absolutely no clue what he is actually doing.
