Hmmmm....we get him for remainder of his career? Or just 1 season?

If career....gotta go young to get best bang for buck, and probably a OTackle or Pass Rusher.

Penei Sewel just 22 or 23, looks to be one of best OTackles in next decade plus. Nick Bosa is a smidge older, but should have 5 more years of dominance.

Justin Jefferson still a pup, and would be a great choice.

Sauce gardner would be great, but a bit of a gamble with not even having a full year to judge him yet.

Jerry Jones would probably take a running back though.
Hmm. Wasn't specified but for purposes of this thread, let's say you get them on a 5 year deal

Yep.

I'd also be tempted with Deon.

Only 5 years,... but his game would completely translate to today's game, and he'd just negate any receiver you wanted to for 5 years... which is far more valuable now than even when Deon was playing

I want to say Justin Jefferson, but Watt is probably the smart choice. Watt and Parsons off the edge would be filthy.

Jefferson and a Lamb would also be filthy, but slightly less so.

Quinnen Williams. Give me a young dawg in the middle and it takes this defense to the next level
He and Jeffrey Simmons are exactly who I was targeting!!!!

It's not that hard to find viable players at most positions, but it's incredibly hard to find disruptive DTs.

If you could pick any non-qb player in the league to trade to get for your team, who would it be?

This question came up on Fanduel FB. I'm going Sauce Gardner. Who you gettin?
Do you mean for Dallas right now or if you are just starting a team from scratch?

Can't go wrong with TJ Watt, Aaron Donald, Nick Bosa or Myles Garrett. Donald at his best is just such an unstoppable passrusher up the gut. I wouldn't take an OL because even the best OL has 4 other players to depend on. A great pass rusher can affect games by himself. An unstoppable WR still requires a good QB to get them the ball. Stick with the pass rusher. Even a great CB can be taken out of the game.

  • For the 2022 playoffs:
    • A DT.
    • Chris Jones is a good option. I have not studied Vita Vea this season, but if he is playing like his best previous season then he would be a good option.

  • Starting in 2023 on a 5-year contract:
    • If I were choosing for any of the other 31 teams, the obviuos answer is Micah Parsons.
    • For the Cowboys:
      • Pass Rusher is probably the highest value position. Of the top 5 pass rushers I would lean to the one that is the best run defender.
      • The top LT is tempting because Tyler can move to LG.

  • From the past:
    • Erik Williams: There's never been a better "tone setter" coming into game with the overwhelming presense that "we're going to kirk your arse".
    • Obviously Deion or Revis are good options.

  • From the recent past:
    • Travis Frederick
