We have:

Dez Bryant
Miles Austin
Jason Witten
DeMarco Murray
[Kevin Ogletree]

You look at most teams, and they only have 1 elite receiver, IF that..., some teams might have 2. VERY few have 3.

And how many of those teams with 3 elite receivers have an elite running back?

Most teams with running backs who get a great deal of attempts and touchdowns usually have no passing game to speak of.

We all want our guys to be listed at the top of the stat sheet, but it's just terribly unrealistic. Maybe if we had the offensive line to go with it, and just scored non stop throughout the game, but we don't have that.

I don't think any team in the nfl has the sheer number of talented skill players that we have, but don't expect both Austin and Bryant to match Calvin Johnson in numbers. Not necessarily because he is better than them, but because where else is the rock going in detroit? Burleson and Pettigrew? Come on? Jahvid Best?

Let's just be happy with the balanced offense, and hopefully take the Ws.

We don't have three elite WRs. Hardly. We don't even have two elite WRs.

Oh, and Calvin Johnson is better than any of our pass catchers.

I didn't say wide receivers, I said receivers.

Is Calvin Johnson better than any of our pass catchers? Why because he had one great year? What about the rest of his career? He has been the number one target there for years, his numbers don't necessarily reflect it. No cowboy on our roster has ever been the sole #1 target.

Dude you're always overlooking the point just to add in your usual BS NEGATIVITY. You're soooo embarrassing at times. Well, all the time.

I can't believe I even have to argue that Calvin Johnson is better than anything we have on offense.

I think your premise is good, you just went overboard on the superlatives. We have an elite QB. He makes good weapons better. I wouldn't call Dez Bryant elite, though he has the talent to be that one day. Austin isn't elite. Witten was, now I don't know. Murray isn't elite. Ogletree is a plane ride away from even being very good.

Lol I would love to meet you in person. You make me laugh but not in a good way. I'm assuming you can't be as big of an negative nelly in person as you are in here. Negative nelly was a nice word I can use without getting warned or kicked off here.

Witten was, but now you don't know? Head scratcher...

3rd among TEs in catches last year. Tied for 7th in touchdowns. 3 touchdowns separate those tied with 7th from 3rd.

Miles Austin not elite?

Last time him and romo were healthy for the majority of the year was 2009.

Austin was 3rd in yards, tied for 3rd in touchdowns (two behind being 1st in the nfl).

Dez Bryant was tied for 4th in touchdowns last year, despite only being a 2nd year player, who played little football in college, and missed many games starting his nfl career.

DeMarco Murray was tied for first in the nfl last year in yards per carry [qualified running backs] 2nd behind Darren Sproles [potentially unqualified].

all stats are position specific

Health plays a big key, but if our team stays healthy, it is absolutely elite when it comes to our skill position players on offense.

I agree that we look good (if healthy) at the "skil"l positions but to talk as if the OL players are not also skilled is nonsense. We are not skilled on the OL (with one exception). for whatever reason, we have not hit on our OL drafts but can't say we drafted skill guys to the neglect of the OL because Romo and Austin were FA--Dez being the only first rounder.

Sorry but at this time Calvin Johnson is clearly the better WR then anyone we have

However the point is that we have a lot of GOOD targets and only one ball

Yes, I don't know. Because he's at that age where he can hit the wall at any time. I didn't think he was elite last year. At least not in comparison to some of the other TEs in the league.

3 years ago? An elite WR whose spent 6 years in the league has something other than one year on his resume.

Brandon Lloyd has had a huge year too. He's not elite either.

Dez Bryant's been in the league two years. He has one 100 yard game. No 1,000 yard seasons. You want him to be elite. He's not that, yet.

DeMarco Murray was tied for first in the nfl last year in yards per carry [qualified running backs] 2nd behind Darren Sproles [potentially unqualified].

Felix Jones has been one of the top yards per carry backs since he's been here. Anybody want to call him elite?

Murray has had one injury riddled 900 yards, 2 TD season. I'd say you're making one gigantic leap of faith there.

Right. He makes a good point about the multiple targets in the offense and why no one player may end up having a huge season stat wise.

But calling all or most elite is a little off the reservation for me.

Now both Dez and Miles CAN BE elite

But they have to stay on the field and put up big numbers consistently

And they have not done that

Pretty sure he's had a couple.

Nothing Calvin Johnson did before last year would have suggested to people that he was the receiver he was last year. He has been the primary target in Detroit for forever, yet his production hasn't been anywhere close to what it was last year.

He had an amazing year last year, and he has been generally quite good, but to just suggest he has been doing what he did last year his entire career is ridiculous.

The man most likely to statistically benefit from having all of these weapons is Romo. This is why I selected him in fantasy football this year...:eek:hboy:
