If you are going to set limits, etc you need to state them right up front. FOR ONE GAME I would PUT JJ at #10. Clearly since he has not played a whole season that makes it different.
I don't know anyone that drafts RB's for one game purposes DA

If it were for one game against the Seahawks, the Bears without Urlacher, or the Panthers, I could see it.

The original question just had running backs and nothing else. Why would anyone think it meant for a season or whatever; I took it to mean talent, ability, etc.

Well are you adding MB3 to him? He's not as good as some of those combos, but he beats some of the guys. I would say he's not as high ranked as his brother even though imo he's the more talented.

Another silly thread. Julius hasn't proven anything yet and he had better do it this year. He has flashed greatness at time but he has also flashed exceptional mediocrity. As of now he is an unranked player with potential.

JJ is better than a few guys on that list...I'd hope to put him around #17

A lot of those backs on that list have never had 198 yds in one game against a playoff team.

he has to play a whole season before I add him to any such list

right how he's still basically an unproven, injury prone rookie that has had flashes of talent

You compared JJ's first 23 games to Emmitts. Of course you didn't mention it took JJ 32 games to get to 23. That's two seasons. Obviously you were talking about more than one game.

Who does he beat out on this no particular order list?

1) S. Alexander
2) LT
3) Larry Johnson
4) Tiki
5) Portis
6) Cadillac
7) Ronnie Brown
8) McGahee
9) Dillon
10) Edge
11) S Jackson
12) Kevin Jones
13) Deuce-Bush
14) Dayne-Bell
15) Westbrook
16) Foster
17) Dunn
18) Green
19) Henry-Brown
20) Benson-Jones
21) Droughns-Green
22) Rudi Johnson
23) Jamal-Anderson
24) Fred taylor
25) Willie Parker

I say he beats out Parker, Taylor, Jamal, Droughns, Foster, Dayne-Bell, Henry-Brown maybe Westbrook

So I guess that ranks him in the high teens-Agree or Disagree?

Granted its hard to make assumptions based on his injuries but I am interested in where he ranks comparitively, IYO.

Not sure where to rank him....but The Answer knows one thing: MB3 > JJ

its amazing how you people just write off what this guys accomplished in less than two full seasons...9 of 13 games last yr he gained at least 71 yds...in 7 starts as a rookie he gained 80+ ydst 6 times...you do realize that 80 yds a game averages out to almost 1300 yds right? he's started 20 games and gained 71 or more yds 15 of those games...he has games of 149, 150, 194 and 198yds in those 20 starts...for comparison sake lets look at Ladainian Tomlinson over the past 2yrs...in 2004 Tomlinson gained 71 or more yds in 9 of his 15 starts...last yr he gained 71+ yds in 10 of his 16 starts...so in his last 31 games Tomlinson has gained 71+ yds 19 times (thats 61% of the time) in 20 starts Jones has done it 15 times (75% of the time)...also, Jones has 4 games of 148 or more yds the past two seasons...Tomlinson has 3 such games and has 11 more starts

I'm not saying Jones is anywhere near as good as Tomlinson, but Tomlinson is widely regarded as the best in football and Jones' production isnt that disimilar to his, and yet the majority of people in this fickle forum think Jones is a bust, a waste of a roster spot, overrated, the 3rd best RB on THIS team etc etc etc, when in fact his production per game is actually superior to alot of guys a number of you rated "way" ahead of Jones
