2020 - Robby Anderson - 2 years 20 million....followed up with a 1,096 receiving yards and 3 Touchdowns.
2020 - Blake Martinez - 3 Years at 30 million - leader of that revamped
2020 - Emmanuel Ogbah - 2 Years 15 million......one of the better pass rushers in the league this year with 9 sacks.
2020 - Leonard Floyd one year 10 million....55 Combined tackles and 10.5 sacks
2020 - Nelson Agholor - One Year 1.05 million 896 Yards...8 Touchdowns...
2020 - Rick Wagner - 2 Years at 11 million....No penalties and gave up 1 sack all year long.

Honorable mention : In 2019, Buccaneers signed Shaq Barrett to a 1 Year deal worth 4 million.....right before he went on to have 19.5 Sacks.

You know what all of these guys have in common? None broke the bank and still had plenty to play for when they signed. That's what I'd be looking for. Sign the free agents who still have a reason to be hungry. What are you playing for once you get a 3 year 60 million dollar deal?

IMO its less about salary and more about signing guys that have absolutely nothing left yet the team can't see that.

It's not just the players themselves. Last year the Cowboys got Poe and McCoy. Two defensive tackles. Can only pay so many guys, and have many different positions. One or the other would have been plenty, turns out neither of them played much or at all anyway.

They have picked up players that don't fit the Cowboys defense. They have ignored positions of need, which is what free agency is all about usually, like Haley, Donaldson, Cooper and others.

Getting free agents is fine, but has to be the right ones for the team as well as being good players...

For the most part I think FA is a tool to fill spots short term and look to the draft for longer term solution. Only because the price tag is FA is so high.

Now list for us all the failures from the bargain bin? I suspect that list is significantly larger than the "successes". Further, look at our history of the bargain bin. It's not very good.

So I am not sure this is the best attempt at defending what this franchise typically does in FA.

The only player i'd consider bargin bin would be nelson. The rest are close to 10 million a year so they are mid tier guys who Stephen avoids like the plague.

These are all amazing and bargain bin type deals. The problem with us is we always like our guys. Free agency is required to build successful teams. You can't just always use the draft only or FA only.
It's not about just signing big name guys, look for distressed assets, guys who are incentivized to do well, but not only guys who have been out of the league like Jerry does.
Don't get mad because I always come to this point. Jerry has no clue which is why we are not good at FA.

@rocyaice This is more along the lines i was thinking when saying bargain bin shopping. I wouldn't be opposed to some of the deals you posted above. Ogbah and Martinez are contracts I definitely could get behind but look at Poe and Clinton-Dix and what we got out of them and the contracts they signed. We spent next to nothing on those guys and in return we got nothing.

I can see where you are headed with the thought process though. There are guys to be had on reasonable deals. I hope we can sign some names along the lines of the ones you referenced.

Fair enough. Take those guys off...these deals are equivalent to what Shaq Barrett got...as well as Ogbah and Wagner.
