You fellas who bash Aikman, check out the respect that Skins fans give him

When is the last time you saw Cowboys fans lining up to give Joe Theisman these kind of props? It may get frustrating at times that Aikman isn't as much of a homer as someone like Michael Irvin, but the man seeks to be the best in whatever field he pursues. Just another example of why I've never bothered to change the default player picture on our profiles. There's only one #8.

I'm begining to think Aikman has taken this too far. Hes trying not to be a homer, but at the same time he never gives any Cowboys credit. However, he goes on and on about other teams.

I know it sure means a lot to me that some "schmo" on a Commanders board likes Aikman.

Maybe that's why I wish he only talked when he has something to add, instead of ALL THE TIME.

Like when they hit Witten late and the refs threw the flag.

Aikman went on and on about how he wasn't out of bounds, ... when the ref had just finished saying "His forward progress was stopped and the whistle blew."

You could see the ref on the sideline waving his arms to stop the clock, and you could hear the whistle blow.

He does do pretty good most of the time though. He just needs to be quiet some times.

I honestly get the feeling he doesn't like Parcells much, perhaps because Bill showed Emmitt the door.

Speaking of schmos on Commander boards, wonder if yesterday ranked right up there with the night Art lost his virginity? Oh, wait, nevermind.

I am sure that if the score was reversed that these same Commanders fans would be ripping Aikman for being a homer.

In an attempt to seem unbiased Troy I think is a little biased against the Cowboys. That is my only issue with him. It seems like the guy is constantly nitpicking the Boyz while giving the other team all the credit in the world. I am not surprised that Commanders fans love Troy after that game.

I still like him as a commentator though. Just not so much for our games. Heh.

I dont think he is biased against Dallas he just seems to go overboard with trying not to come off as biased in my opinion.

I think he's one of the best the Fox has right now.

Someobody told me that when he did Ads in Dallas during his playing days, he was awful. Now he speaks very well.

I know I said it before here. But, he makes Moose look like an unprofessional homer.

No kidding.

Who cares what any of them think?

Which is exactly what makes him biased against us. He goes overboard and ends up sounding like he is biased against the team.

Agree. He beat the Cowboys down worse than the Skins did

I agree that Aikman is a bit overly critical of the Cowboys.

But the announcer I am growing to loathe is Joe Buck. There is a smugness to him that subtly belittles teams IMO.

I know its just a game, but frankly, I want a play-by-play guy who treats the game as if it is something very significant. Thats why most of us love the NFL Films productions because that announcer speaks in reverance about the players and the game.

The color guy I can give some grace to when he cuts up a bit. But I want a straight man for pbp just like Pat Summerall who respects the players and the game even if they don't necessarily deserve it.

I started out with a fondness for Buck because of his dad's history and the fact that I love the STL Cardinals but Joe has completely lost me now. I wish tehy would pair someone else with Aikman who I think will give the Cowboys their due, when it finally becomes due.

Aikman getting criticized by Cowboys fans?
Then that must mean he's doing his job objectively. :D

In truth I have not heard a football fan from any other team say they dislike Aikman. Most think he is the most objective color analyst out there. There are always fans who dislike the announcers, but Aikman is as professional as they come IMO. His criticism just doesn't sting me the way it does some.

Could not agree more.
