OK..so all kidding aside.

I am genuinely curious...

Exactly when does ANY of this become the responsibility of Bill Parcells?

Here is a fact of my life, before parcell's got here and after Jimmy left minus the two switzer years where he was coaching jimmy's team I didn't expect much. I honestly expected to lose and was surprised when we pulled out a win. That changed though with parcells. I now expect to win and am distraught on losing but I think Bill brought me back to being a "only a win will do" guy for my team. I will die a boys fan even if we don't win another game but Parcells, he gave me hope in my team again. I can't stand all the fair weather knee jerk fans we seem to have in abundance on here now. The fact is Parcells brought us back to the expect to win and devastated by a loss that I haven't felt for 10 years. I am thankful for that and hope he stays, and wish folks could remember the Campo and Gailey days and just shut up already about Parcells needs to go. If you count yourself among them then maybe its you that needs to go, not him. That man brought a sense of pride in my team I hadn't had in a long time. He makes me smile in his press conferences and makes me like this team as much as I believe he likes them too. There is a spark missing and I don't know what it is but maybe just maybe its the fact that in the 4th quarter of games 1\3 of the seats were empty at home. I didn't turn the game off even though that woulda been the easy thing to do. I sat and I watched as this team that I love sank and sank and I sank with them. Thats what real fans do and I will be right there when this funk wears off. Not to say I told you so but just cause its the way things should be with true fans.
Whatever. That game was for a home playoff game and it was a BLOWOUT. That was a pathetic effort and the blame for that goes one place and one place only, the coaching staff. That is 2 weeks in three where the team was completely undressed, was not CLOSE to ready to play the game, let alone win. There are no bandwagon fans, there are only disappointed fans that deserve better.

That was another gripe I had.

Unless you're on another planet, if your starting QB has a drug problem that is SO serious that the guy STILL isn't playing pro football, you KNOW it.

We went into that season with Testaverde as the contigency plan.

REALLY BAD IDEA.

Well said.

I love being seen as a band wagon..knee jerk fan.

I've rooted for this team since 1965...

This season is looking EXACTLY like last season.

I've been knocking Parcells for 3 years...So I'm not in the "knee jerk" club.

When the people who support Parcells say "Oh, so you'd rather have Campo" as a way of supporting him...I can only say..."uh, OK, Parcells is better than Campo"

Great.

I'm right there with you, Juke...100%.

Saying we're better than we were in those days is merely to say we're not the Cardinals or the Lions...when you draft where we've been drafting, you're supposed to get better.

But in the games that count, we're never prepared.

In the games against other good teams, we get manhandled more often than not.

In the games against other good coaches, we seem to get beaten with no answers...things did not get better at half time.

IN my opinion, young players need inspiration, even professionals...we need innovation on offense, fire on defense, and someone with some answers.

And personally, I'm not all that thrilled with our success on day one of the draft.

I don't think parcells is innocent in all this but saying its all his fault is garbage. The players knew what was on the line and they didn't show up. Thats on them not on bill.

I just think the team is coached not to make mistakes.

Athleticism seems to be undervalued.

It is So rare that we see this team come out with fire...and passion...especially on the defensive side of the ball.

It's all conjecture on my part...but from what I've heard Parcells stress, time and again, it just seems the players are more concerned about not making mistakes than they are about making plays. I think Roy Williams epitomizes what is wrong with this team. He used to be a playmaker.

NOW, I'm not suggesting playing sloppy football is ok. But there has to be a balance in what is stressed. AND in fact, this team is sloppy as hell.

This is not 1965 where teams like the Packers and the Flex Cowboys could spend years perfecting their technique within the systems those teams employed.

This is an NFL that turns players over, often. And because of that, it's kinda difficult to get players to play mistake free football because they don't stay in a system long enough to do so.

That is why we see playmakers being the priority for teams.

Yes, the exception occurs, like the Pats. BUT that was a perfect situation with an exceptional coach and organization.

The NFL today, is more like the NBA. The old NBA was a team, execution sport. Today, it's more of an athlete's game.

Whatever.

What the hell do I know.

:)

OK. Well..of course it's a team problem.

BUT...when the guy in charge has HIS players on the roster...and is coaching them within HIS system...He takes the burden of blame.

That's just my opinion.
