You know what player is probably pissed?

i would think Spears and Canty wouldn't be very happy either.....i would only guess that they thought they were misused in the 3-4....maybe wade can change things up a little....

I'm not sure of that but from what I hear about Ellis he probably very concerned whether he still has a job with the Cowboys. He doesn't have a history with Phillips like he did with Parcells. On other hand Ellis (should he recover all the way) was a legit pass rusher with at least 8 sacks a season (more if he someone opposite him) so somehow I think Phillips will find a way to use his abilitity.

I would think they would be pretty happy knowing that they will be able to play aggresive instead of read and react. The SD DL do pretty well stat wise, and I don't see why that won't happen here under Phillips. As a matter of fact, Canty complained about being misued as a 3-4 DE here because he was used to take up blocks instead of making plays.

I think his spot will be secure should he recover. One thing he has going for him is that he is a Cowboy, one of Jerry's picks who's been productive. We know how loyal Jerry can be to his good players.

I think Ellis is gone. I like him and he did do a good job before he got hurt. But the injury he sustained and his age.. I doubt he will be able to move in space good enough to play OLB int he 3-4. I do think he would still be good in a 4-3 DE position. I think we might can trade him to a 4-3 team, that needs a veteran DL with a few years left him in.

What are the possibilities of Phillips being able to lure over some quality defensive free agents with the potential Dallas has and how well the San Diego defense did last season?

Could he possibley bring over some of his players, if so who?

I like the idea of a defensive minded coach. This won't turn into another Campo situation (hope I don't regret those words haha)

Guess what. D-line players all hate the 3-4.

Ellis likely will be excited since Wade's D gets a ton of sacks - he'll have a chance to come back and put up some nice numbers -- then when he leaves Dallas, he can get a decent contract somewhere else. Ellis should be very happy.

If Wade only hire is defensive backs coach...then its Dave Campo all over again. Get the wet suits ready.
