OK, let's take one last whirl at this. Using the board linked below, make the Cowboy draft selections as they fall. Here are the ground rules:
  • Must take the picks as they fall - no trades.
  • Must make your selections based on who is available at the number of the selection. For example, at #17, you must select a player ranked no higher than 17 on this board.
Here's the board to be used:

https://thedraftnetwork.com/prospect-rankings

Here are the selections:

#17
#51
#82
#123
#164
#179
#231

Pick 17 would be a trade down. Kinlaw would be a good pick if I knew his knees were 100% but as it stands I take the safe pick and don't look back. It helped to know that Johnson was there in the second at 51. Metellus is box safety and an excellent tackler.

17 Xavier McKinney S Alabama
51 Jaylon Johnson CB Utah
82 Darrell Taylor DE Tennessee
123 Lynn Bowden Jr.Offense University of Kentucky elliot
164 James Lynch DL Baylor
179 Keith Ismael OG/OC San Diego State University
231 Josh Metellus S Michigan

I'm taking mckinney at 17

The rest you guys fight about
Honestly, I started this whole draft season off wanting McKinney as our first rounder and I am really comong back to that idea. Even though safety isn't a position I would like us to address early, I fell good about him vs the other guys commonly linked to us

Same here, came full circle. The other part was I didn't think and still don't that they will take him so I started focusing on needs and what they probably will do.

Same. Though I could see them trading down and him being the best player on the board.

To me, he is the true Travis Frederick-type pick
