Imagine the backlash if we would have traded up a few spots for him.

There was nothing we could do.

He went to the local private High School (Hawaii Preparitory Academy) here in Waimea on the Big Island. Most every area or local has a kid or two........or more who make it to the big time. But our little town, on the slopes of Mauna Kea, is probably more like a village. Only about 14,000 folks I think.
I never met him, but I know some of the coaches and many of the other kids. By all acounts, he's a good kid and a hell of an O-Lineman who could play anywhere on the O-line. He probably won't be a starter this year unless the guys in front of him remain injured (which is why he started last night). But he WILL be next in line @ both gaurd AND center.
I watched that game last night against the Chargers and didn't see anything that would say that he didn't at least hold-his-own in there.

At least the Mendenhalls and Merrimans were available when we picked.
