You think he regrets it now?

I find this a little funny. All his complaining for years and being asked to be let go and now look at him.

New Raider Ellis unloads after blowout

Posted by Tom Curran on August 30, 2009 10:05 AM ET
Through 11 seasons with the Dallas Cowboys, Greg Ellis became familiar with what a circus atmosphere could be like.
But did he know that when he signed with the Raiders in June that he was climbing into the NFL's biggest clown car?
After Oakland's 45-7 (it wasn't even that close) loss to the Saints on Saturday, the 34-year-old defensive end spoke to his teammates through reporters.
"Guys, you can't stay out all night, can't expect to come in here and just turn it on," Ellis was quoted as saying by Paul Gutierrez of the Sacramento Bee. "This isn't high school or college football. This is the best of the best in the NFL. So you've got to do those small things that you maybe didn't have to do in college."
As bad as the Raiders offense played, the defense - of which Ellis now finds himself a part - was even worse.
Gutierrez notes that, "The Raiders first-team defense played through the third quarter and was responsible for most of the 536 total yards surrendered including a galling 232 yards on the ground."
Saints quarterback Drew Brees, who led New Orleans to touchdowns on all three of his drives, said, "I feel like a lot of times we were getting up to the ball, getting set and they were still trying to get lined up."
Making matters even more dicey for the Raiders, their best player, corner Nnamdi Asomugha, suffered a chip fracture in his wrist against New Orleans. Oakland downplayed the severity of it but a corner kinda needs to use his hands and it could very well nag him all year.
All in all, despite the pretzel logic employed by some to conclude that the Raiders might be galvanized after head coach Tom Cable's alleged beatdown of assistant coach Randy Hanson, the opposite is true. The Raiders are a mess.

And Greg still hasn't met a microphone he doesn't like.

Tell it to your teammates in the locker room Greg, not through the media.

the Saints looked really sharp, "mid-season form" even.

I tihnk Ellis is coming to the realization that he may have latched on to a loser.

The Saints are just ripping through people in preseason. They made the Texans look like fools as well.

They could be scary this year.

I'm sure that he'll never go into any detail, but I wonder how dedicated his teammates were in preparing for our game in comparison to their games with the 49ers and Saints? It wouldn't surprise me in the least if many of his new teammates weren't partying nearly as hard two weeks ago as they were before the last two games.

I'm glad he's gone. Now he's happy because he comes from a winning team to a botton dwelling team and he can open up his superiority (in his mind) to the rest of his teammates. He can tell them through the media how they should act and react. He can tell them how to win.

For his sake I hope the rest of the Raiders don't realize that he was about the only common denominator for a decade of mediocrity in Dallas.

See ya Greg!

Unless I'm mistaken, they were still in training camp when they played us. They had curfews and were staying in dorm rooms.

For their next two games, they were at home with their families and could party and stay out much later.

I'm not saying that is why they looked different against us... but I'm not saying it isn't, either. :p:

Ehhh, I can't join in the Ellis bashing. Always liked the guy, though he is too honest for his own good when it comes to talking to reporters. Sounds like he probably has some real good points about the attitude of his teammates that led to that complete beatdown. But talking to them through the media doesn't seem wise.
