I’m like most fans here, I wanted a Safety with one of the top two picks. And when I seen that we had the pick of the litter with our 3rd Rd pick, I was excited as I assume most shared the same feeling. So when we picked a McGovern, my jaw hit the floor.
I get why most are upset, but I do trust the FO to make sound picks and find productive starters. Ultimately, that’s what the draft should be about.
That said, Dallas has their Free safety in Xavier Woods and Jeff Heath. They covered themselves with IIloka and Frazier is hanging on. But for us that want an upgrade, I believe Mike Bell (6’3” 210+) could round into a very scary ‘In the Box’ Safety. He fits all the measurements that Kris Richard likes and actually favors Cam Chancellor a lot. For those that don’t know, Cam was drafted in the 5th Rd in 2010, Richards first year with a Seattle. Bells scouting report is very similar to Chancellor’s. I’ve provided a links below.
