He came on strong with 3 wins, an improved QB and then came the DC's that had enough film to plan against him, that and better teams. He has been dependent on his QB performing at a higher level that even they expected, even MVP consideration.
This week he gets the master at taking what he's seen on film and devising a plan, with backup, to make what the opposing OC wants to do limited or use that against him.
Moore must not only look at the NE D and how best to attack it but look at film of himself and try to see his weaknesses and how they might be exploited. No D coach in the league studies an opposing OC better than Belichick and the best way to counter him is to study yourself as closely to what you'd think he'd be thinking.
No easy task but isn't that why they promoted Kellen Moore, because he's smart? I will watch this game for that very thing. How does he attack in the beginning and how does he change that when and if Belichick changes, as he usually will.
And while few will pick the Cowboys to win at NE, two things are in their favor. Moore and Prescott have no fear. They will not be in awe of the situation and it will not be too big a stage for them.
The other thing Moore, Lal and Nussmeier will be showing their receivers from the PHL game...the drops. If not for that, that game might have had a different ending. And Moore, Kitna and Prescott will looking at the poor throws from the PHL QB. NE did not win that game as much as PHL lost it. Missed opportunities get magnified against quality opponents.
Moore wasn't promoted as much for this season as he was for the future. People see promise in him and he gets the best training a first year OC could get this Sunday. What he has learned will serve him well but nothing like what he's about to learn.
