Best Action Game: God of War 3 (between that and Red Dead, but GOW wins)

I don't play enough to fill out each category but my favorite game is Red Dead Redemption.

First Person Shooter (all categories): None - didn't play a single one, and I won't either. Worst genre ever (aside from dating sims perhaps, though I've honestly never played one).

Third Person Shooter: Uncharted 2
Role Playing: FFXIII - Even though I've only played an hour of FF and completed Mass Effect 2 and Heavy Rain (Not what I really consider a role playing game) I'm still gonna go with the FF.
Action Game: God of War 3
Fighting: Didn't play any.
Music: Didn't play any.
Sports: I guess Madden, but there's not much worth playing here.
Strategy: Didn't play any.


Not going to think about worst.

Isn't Bioshock 2 a FPS though?

Angry Birds slays all competition.

Ok...maybe not, but it is probably the most addicting game.

Gonna skip through any of the posts or delineations, I would think it is either Red Dead Redemption or Uncharted 2.

Red Dead Redemption was a very good game.

Halo Reach's campaign is pretty good. I haven't played through it but I like the parts I have played of it. I'm not big on campaigns so I only play if I can co-op them and shoot the breeze with people I am playing with.

I have, and it's not that good. Very little story, you spend 90% of the game just gathering your party. The first was a lot better and that was overrated too.

Really? Everybody I talked to loved ME2 including me, everyone is entitled to their own opinion though.

I played it on X360 and it was amazing. I don't know if it's different on PS3, but the entire story is epic. The party gathering is synonymous with the progression of the story. You should give the full version a chance.

Best Strategy Game - Nothing, they all disappointed this year (havent yet played Civ V so throw that one out)

YOUR 2010 GAME OF THE YEAR: Battlefield Bad Company 2

No game really blew me away this year, unlike 2009 (Demon's Souls) and 2008 (Valkyria Chronicles and Persona 4). Battlefield was the game I keep going back to over and over, so it gets the nod.

I don't really want to pick the "Worst of" because i didnt play too many bad games at all this year, but I would like to comment on what I think was the most Disappointing Game (but not necessarily bad) game of 2010.

Valkyria Chronicles 2.

Annoying characters, ridiculous setting, crap story, broken rank system. But the gameplay is outstanding.

Edit: To all you guys nominating Uncharted 2, it is NOT a 2010 game. It was released in 2009.

There was very little story and most of the missions involving the gathering of the party had nothing to do with the main story outside of actually getting the party member. It was just, go here, get this person, go there, get that person, and once you have enough people we'll throw you a bone and give you a mission actually related to the story...but once you're done with that we'll make you do some more missions only related to the back story of your crew which really doesn't have much of anything at all to do with the main story...and then, FINALLY, once you do that we'll let you play out the last few missions which actually are about the story.

I just joined Steam like 2 weeks ago to get Defense Grid. I really love tower defense games.

With that being said, I can't play a lot of games due to motion sickness.

Steam gets a lot of hate. I joined Steam maybe 6 months ago and have I think three games from it. So far I really haven't had a problem with any of them.
