Your 2026 draft wish?

Now the season is in the books for us, what do you want to see happen come the 2026 draft?

Given the numerous holes in our D, I'm all for trading back, especially with us having no 2nd or 3rd rounder as things stand.

I'll also go on the assumption we end up with the 12 and 20 pick in the 1st round. Going off the draft points chart, pick 12 is worth 1200 and pick 20 worth 850 points.

If we trade away the GB pick, then a reasonable trade would be for the 7th pick in rounds 2, 3, 4 and 7 (points being 510, 235, 88 & 12 so about 845 total). The team picking 7th in each round happens to be Washington!

We'd then be getting a high 2, a high 3 and have 2 4s (I've included our own).

I'm also up for trading back a little with the 12th pick - that's worth 1200 so let's say we trade back to 16 (which happens to be the Jets trade via the Colts), it's worth 1000. 200 points would get you about mid-round 3rd round pick.

I just much prefer the sound of picking at 16 in round 1 and then having an early pick in the 2nd, 2 picks in the 3rd and 2 in the 4th than 2 picks in round 1 and 1 pick in round 4.........................we've too many holes to fill !

I think trading one of our two firsts is inevitable. We simply have too many holes to fill unless Jerry opens up his pocket book in free agency.

Trade down a tad with the second pick and get one of the DBs or possibly Anthony Hill or CJ allen if Available. Do not like them as much as Styles but Styles will be gone by the time of the second pick.

This is a really poor draft for blue chippers; just our luck.

Jeremiah Love at 12 and Kaydn Proctor at 20 just to watch this board melt down.

For real though pie in the sky draft that could have a smidge of a chance of happening: Downs falling to 12 us signing Trey Hendrickson and trading down from 20 to the late first and adding a second rounder. Grab a LB like Hill or Allen and either another edge or an o lineman (probably RT unless you plan to move Guyton there and Smith to LT).

Think the pick at 12 will be either Styles, Bailey, Downs or Bain. One should be available, would include Reese but think he is gone in the top 5 picks.

The GB pick could be Howell, Mesidor or Height if a edge isn't taken at 12. Could also see Allen if Styles isn't taken. Think the secondary will be handled in free agency.

I just feel we could take several positions and improve our putrid D......DE, LB, CB and safety all could work.

It's the reason I want the trading down so we can hit all 4.

Agree but hitting it right is imporant. Also have to factor in positional value ie DE and CB cost way more in FA than FS and LB. So maybe get FS and LB in FA and DE and CB in draft to fill critical positions with quality starters not bodies

Valid point on DE and CB free agency costs v solid LB and safety. There's another thread on the go re moving T Smith to LT and the near impossible task of getting a LT in FA as good ones rarely see the market.

I feel I'm just at a place i would rather we throw 5 darts at the board on D than 2 and therefore we go BPA.

A "slightly above league average" player at any of the D positions improves us right now.

I am with this. I think Downs and Bain are legit options. I believe Reese will go much higher.

Bain is what this defense needs. But I think he will get mixed into that "short arm" category and scares some teams off. Could be the perfect target at 12 and rumors I have read state he would love to be here.

My dream scenario is we go nuts in FA and can just draft BPA.

If we hibernate in FA per the usual I will say Bailey and Styles.

More reason to trade back. With our luck Petter Woods will fall, when we have no need for a DT.
