Yes! Awesome to see a Grandma's Boy mention. Loved that one. It seems to fly under the radar for most.

Beetlejuice
Beetlejuice is an underrated comedy in my opinion. It had a cast that was mostly perfect for what the movie was about.

Michael Keaton and Geena Davis had different types of roles but they were both outstanding in their own way. The Deetzs, Jeffery Jones and Catherine O'Hara, were the stuck ups who got exactly what they deserved. The actor who played Ortho The Fake Medium was pretty good.

I liked Winona Ryder and Alec Baldwin but I think they could have both been replaced with other actors without the movie losing any of its overall magic. Maybe I would feel differently if Baldwin's character was not so geeky (he did not seem to fit the role very well) and Ryder's character was as much of a new kid (outsider may be a better term), who happened to like goth. And I say that about Ryder not fitting my idea of new kid when I loved her as one in Heathers.

I actually saw that movie in the theater not long after it came out with some friends of mine.

Hard to say. I couldn't imagine anybody else in their roles though. The entire movie just seemed to have all the pieces that fit together perfectly. Would be fun to be able to peer into an alternative universe were subtle things like that change. To think of how some movies may have turned out or if they would be perceived differently. For example, I was reading awhile back how Matthew McConaughey was in the running as Jack in Titanic. Could you imagine that? Would that character be as iconic? Hard to say.

I dislike Titanic with a passion. Please do not mess with my head like that. :muttley:

We’re in the North Atlantic here, man. The icebergs are all around us, and we don’t
even know whether they’re there. You know why? 'Cause we don’t see ‘em.
