Which of your favorite players do you think are on the bubble to make the roster? Why do you want them to make it? Who do you think is a tight squeeze, a sure fit or a coin toss?

Adrian Hamilton. Wilbur being hurt probably helps him out, but I hope we don't get cute and try to slip him onto the practice squad. Can you say major rueage?

Radway....he would have made the team last year.
Even though we haven't heard much about him this year doesn't mean he's not having a good camp. The next 2 preseason games will show a lot obviously.

Most everyone has him as camp fodder at this point, but I feel he's clsoe to making the team....if they keep 6 WR's.
If they keep 5, he will be possibly PS, if no other team picks him up. Which I think he will be.

With all of our WRs playing well, I'm not sure Radway makes it.

Dunbar. If he can return kicks he might pass tanner

This. You could never have enough pass rushers. This guy is a favorite of mine as well. I'm really pulling for him to make the team. Some other team will snatch him up if they try to sneak him on the practice squad.

Ever since camp started, I have grown on Jamize Olawale. I hope they find a spot for him.

My take on the WRs:

Dez Bryant - Starter
Miles Austin - Starter

Kevin Ogletree – Appears to have won the #3 WR job.
Dwayne Harris – Looks quick and ready to contribute. Maybe KR, PR.
Cole Beasley – Knows how to get open and catches the ball. Playing Special teams and blocking on run plays is a big problem.

Andre Holmes – Does not appear quite ready. Has upside.
Danny Coale – Keep as a developmental player. Missed too much time to be significant contributor early in the season.

Raymond Radway – Big and Fast, but appears to be lost.
Tim Benford – Reliable but not a great athlete.
Saalim Hakim – Very fast, very raw.
Donavon Kemp – Out, Injured.

You're probably right...but I'm still pulling for him...to at least make it to the PS.

I think he's a lock to do that.

Me too. I like Tanner. I'm almost convinced letting go of Felix would be our best bet in the long run. The question is, how do we do that and still get something in return for him?

Me to he remides me of Brandon Jacobs play style.

Bubble Guys... best guess as of right now:

QB - Carpenter (PS hopeful), McGee
RB - Dunbar (PS hopeful), Tanner (PS possible), Wesley, Williams
FB - Chapas
WR - Benford, Hakim, Holmes (PS hopeful), Kemp (ACL injury), Radway (PS hopeful)
TE - Flaherty, Szczerba
OL - Adams, Adcock, Dockery, Gunn, Kowalski (to PUP?), Loper, Novikoff

DL - Atkins, Bass (PS hopeful), Callaway (PS hopeful)
LB - Lemon (PS hopeful), McSurdy (PS hopeful)
CB - AOA, Smith, Williams, Wilson (PS possible)
S - Silva, Whitley

STs - Alvarado, Hughlet

I like Dunbar and Tanner @ RB, but I have a feeling Olawale is in the lead for the 3rd RB spot.

WRs... unless Benford, Holmes and/or Radway do something big, I kinda think we keep Beasley, Coale and Harris, for their play so far, potential (especially w/ Coale who's been injured) and STs capabilities.

Is Tanner PS eligible?

Good catch... I put "PS possible" because I wasn't sure when I posted my list.

But now that I think more about it, Tanner DID play in regular season games last year... so, no, I don't think he would still be PS eligible.

Rather than lose Tanner, I'd prefer it if we could get Olawale on the PS. I just think he's shown up on tape to where he'd likely get picked up by another team if we cut him.

Can't keep 'em all. May the best RB3 win, I guess.

Danny Coale, Orie Lemon.

I suppose Hamilton is on the bubble, but I can't really see him being cut because guys like him are so hard to come by and Spencer is likely to be playing his last year as a Cowboy.

Glad you asked.

Raymond Radway may not have done anything yet at the WR position to distinguish himself like say Beasley, Ogletree or even Harris, but alot about his character and physical ability was answered when he got off the ground after having a pass stolen from him, sprinted down the field, and tackled the guy at the 2 yard line. He coud have easily stayed there on the ground with his head down and I'm pretty sure not too many people would have blamed him for it, but he took it upon himself to save a touchdown and it is work ethic like that and plays like that that build Champions. I don't think he'll make the roster, but he earned himself a spot on the Practice Squad with that one play.

Jamize Olawale is yet another long shot to make the roster, but then again, I don't think we carry more than 2 QB's and only 1 Kicker this year, so we might have room to go deep at RB. I like one thing about him: He moves the pile. He is the epitome of a short yardage back, but he also has a pretty good burst and can make some moves in the open field. I think it would be nice to have a TE/RB/FB tweener. You can create mismatches with guys like that and I think if he makes the team, they can find a role for him. Of course, being active on game day will also mean he has to contribute on Special Teams, and he already has one flag to his credit on the Special Team units.

Ben Bass is yet another player that is likely Practice Squad bound. In fact, to say he is on the bubble might be too kind, given the log jam already on the DL. But I don't think the Cowboys will keep both Marcus Spears and Kenyon Coleman, and I'm leaning towards Spears out of those two due to his youth by comparison. But the word to describe Bass is tenacious. He does not give up and showed good pursuit chasing Terrel Prior (sp?) around in the Raiders game. I mean, he's lineman, so I really didn't expect him to actually catch the 4.3 runner, but the fact that he did not give up stood out to me...that and the fact that he was seemingly in the backfield on almost every play in the latter minutes of the game. He looks like a guy worthy of development, and would be a good scout team addition.

Lance Dunbar. We haven't even seen him, but I did a little research and against admittedly very subpar talent, he owned them. He's not very fast, overall, but he has good explosion and balance to stay on his feet. I'm very curious to see what he does against significantly better competition. Also a long shot to make the team; I'd say he also would be a good Scout Team addition to develop, particularly considering the likely exit of Felix Jones following this year.

I love Cole Beasley, but I honestly don't think he is on the bubble. He has made this team, I don't think there is anyway they can sneak him on the Practice Squad; and if they tried, I don't think San Diego would let him make it there. From what I understand, they are not crazy about what they have at WR currently.

I would put holmes and coale ahead of beasly.

one simple reason, beasly doesn't play special teams. those two do. the question is if beasly better than uglytree and harris. if not, then you have to have your 5th WR play special teams. if he doesn't then he probably won't make the team.

and I will venture to say, then if he is not better than harris and uglytree, would he be better than any teams #3 & #4. if not, then there is a better chance of sneaking him into the PS, because teams expect the bottom of the roster to be a special teams contributor

Of course he can't play ST. He's a very small guy.

But have you seen him play WR? That's something I think you're missing the importance of.

I have heard a lot about dumping felix or trying to get some value out of him. What if murray gets hurt? Or try to tone down felix's bulk and throw him at KR PR if murray stays healthy. He was pretty good when he first came in the league at doing that. He can catch but where is his moves after the catch? He seems to lower his shoulder then put a juke or spin in there. That is what he excels at and I dont see it anymore. What do I know, but that is my take on felix and his situation.
