WOW how about T.O.'s 4 TD's? How about his team first attitude? I think some people on this forum have some crow to eat. Alot of folks didn't want him hear. Alot of folks ragged on his drops last season. and alot of you folks said you would rather have Parcells then Owens if it came down to it.
Time to eat your crow and admit you were wrong.

Yeah always said I would love to have his talent if he could just leave his mouth in philly.
But I never thought this could happen he is great. The ultimate team guy, he wants the team on his back when things are going bad and wants the ball in his hands when the games on the line.

Winners always do shane. Winners always do.

Wait a minute, explain the logic behind this. If you didnt want him here, which I didnt, how does his performance make you "wrong?" That's not exactly a bright statement now is it? Admit it. Now if you said "I am sure he will be no good" ok, then youre "wrong." Your comment here simply makes no sense. Now apologize to the board.

No if you read I also said his Team First Attitude! I also said he people said he would tear the team apart. And said that alot of people bashed him for leading the league in drops (and TD's) last year with broken fingers.

I have always considered TO a great talent but also a headcase. He has changed how he handles himself this season and I have changed how I view him as a member of this team. I consider this a 2 way street. If what you want is to hear members say they were wrong I'll gladly say I was wrong because I did not think he could or would change.

Has been a bit of a sore spot for me. Was predicting/hoping for us to sign Owens from the day he was suspended from the eagles pending a release in the off-season.

I was convinced that the Owens/Jones/Cowboys match would work.
Jones would provide the money and ego stroking neccessary and Owens' talent would elevate the Cowboys.

I had such heated debates in March 2006 that I actually got myself banned for a week.
My stance on this has not changed.
If you were not in favor of signing Owens, you have a serious issue with risk.
You want everything in life and with this team safe and secure.

What you dont understand is that life is risk.

And you cant build a champion without assuming some risk.

It simply cant be done. You're competing with 32 teams.
You have to be willing to take on some "personalities".
Guys like Owens with tremdous talent that are hard to deal with.
You also have to be willing to make some "project" draft picks like Stanbach.
Guys with great physical ability that might need a position change or have limited palying experience or have played against a lower level of competition like Ware and Romo.

You cant succeed if you're to affraid to fail.

I blame Jerry Jones and his meddling ways ..... :p:

Very interesting take.
Jerry Jones drafts Aikman, but after he retires doesn't offer him a front office job which of course would explain his Cowboy hatred whenever he broadcasts our games.
Jerry Jones draft Roy Williams.
Jerry Jones hires Parcells.

Jerry Jones allows his picture to be taken by CrazyCowboy while he is wearing wearing that insane mask, which then allows him to include it in his signature.....

You sir, have solved the root of our evil. Congrats have a diet Coke on us !

It's implicit in his statement. It's a reasonable presumption that many who didn't want him here believed he would cause more harm than good to the team, which he hasn't, ergo the crow is served. Pass it down this way, for the record, as I was very leery of making a T.O. a Cowboy.

I'm sure there were folks who didn't want him here for purely ethical/moral reasons -- they believed he would contribute to the team in a practical sense but didn't want TO in a Cowboy uniform. I don't remember the argument being made much, though...

Agreed. I was hoping to get him before Philly.

At the end of the day. Jerry looks smarter than the 49ers and especially the Eagles. He could write a book "This is how you deal with star players"... then he could follow with another book "How not to treat star players just to
appease your overrated QB"

In Owens and Moss's case... its really simple.... they both think the same in this regard "Dont waste my career with players, ownership that dont know what they are doing"

All the witchin and moanin has them BOTH in prime positions on teams and they are BOTH very successful right now.... BOTH have a shot to go and win SB....
