Inspired by another thread, I'd be interested to hear all of your earliest Cowboy memories.

Mine was beating the Vikings in the '96 playoffs. I was eight years old and my dad got two tickets to the game. He ended up taking my mom with him but I told him before he left for the stadium that the Cowboys were gonna up 42 on Minnesota. His response was that if the Cowboys put 42 up on the Vikings he'd streak across the field naked. He told me later that he was sweating bullets when we got up to 40. I remember watching it on tv and everyone in the house hoping for one last field goal to put us over 42. :laugh2:

Okay, I'm not gonna lie. My earliest Cowboys memory is of the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders. I got a free poster from 7-11 that had the then current Cheerleaders' pictures on it...I cut out the pictures and put them in my velcro wallet.

:laugh2:

Super Bowl: Cowboys vs. Steelers.

At the time I was too young to really appreciate the great sport of football, but it was my first Cowboys memory.

Preston Pearson's beautiful diving catch vs. the Los Angeles Rams.

I was hooked.

This was the first game I ever watched. It was love at first sight.
And the narrator forgot to mention that the Boys only had 10 men on the field for that play, making it even harder to duplicate. ;)
I met Tony for the first time last year....it was surreal to say the least.

I feel like I got screwed. I never got to see TD, Staubach, or Pearson play.

If you go to YouTube and look for BBGun1967 playlist, you will not be disappointed.

One of the clips is the hit Too Tall Jones laid on Chuck Foreman in the 1977 NFC Championship Game. Too Tall was just awesome in that game.

The 1977 Team Highlight film titled "The Year the Clock Struck XII" shows that hit in slow motion as a man is yelling "Hit Him TOO TALL Hit Him!"

However, BBGun1967's clip is in full speed and it is just incredible.

I'm on it, thanks for the advice.

It was a good thing that happened in January, 1976.

Using today's rules, that would have been challenged and overturned as an incompletion. As much as I admire Preston Pearson, that ball clearly hit the ground.

It's not all bad. I seen Al Bundy and Archie Bunker in there too. :)

Oh, I didn't mean it was a bad thing. I loved that show as a kid myself.

I didn't care...in my then 10-year old mind, all I saw was a man "flying" to catch an amazing TD pass.

Living in Canada and watching my first ever NFL game, at the time only the Super Bowl was shown on TV there, and watching Cowboys Colts.

Boys lost on a last second field goal, i was pulling for them for no apparent reason, and i've been a fan ever since.

As a young Canadian kid, Strat-O-Matic football turned myself, and a lot of my friends, into serious NFL fans.

Long time ago, but a wonderful lifelong relationship began with a young kid stumbling into the living room and just happening to check out what was on TV one Sunday afternoon.

Living in the US now, it all seems so strange and far away. LOL.

My earliest memory was losing 20-0 to the L.A Rams in the divisional rd. in 1985! Eric Dickerson just embarrassed us. But that was when I was absolutely hooked to the silver and blue! I never wanted to see them lose again.

Mine was Super Bowl V. For some reason as a young kid I just fell in love with the uniform and was so disappointed when they lost in the final seconds. Even though I was very young at the time I could see that we were clearly a better team than the Colts.

To this day my toughest Cowboys losses have been Super Bowl XIII to the Steelers, Super Bowl X to the Steelers, The 28-27 loss to the Niners following the 81 season and playoff losses to the Rams in 76 and the stupid Billy Waddy tipped TD in 79. Lots of heartache but some great games also over the years.

Ah, it seemed like yesterdey.
I was selling aluminum siding to the retirees . . . .
No, wait. Yeah it must have been 1961 when I recall TV images of cowboys in their jerseys with the big stars . . . .names like Tubbs and Lily. They would come out of a tunnel and stand there in front of the camera fer about 5 seconds and then run off.
Tough to remember . . . must hve beer . . . .
