Your linebacker market

Surprised the Bucs let him walk

At that price?

I applaud them for letting him go.

But if they'll pay that much for this guy? Pencil Earl Thomas as a 49'er right now and be done with it.

I guess so. Just thought he was a core part of that defense but I haven't really kept up with the bucs recently.

But now it's going to make every good lb get a much bigger deal now...

Everybody is getting overpaid.

Lol every year people say this non sense and every year the contracts keep going up. It’s called market value.

Yeah, because teams always honor these "market value" deals down the road when they realize they grossly overpaid, right?

I don’t get what you’re saying...that’s exactly how nfl contracts are supposed to work and why signing free agents aren’t that risky. $27M guaranteed over 4 years is nothing in the grand scheme of things.

Unless you’re suggesting you’d rather stay stagnant and not improve because of the risk of “overpaying”

Really? You "don't understand" this? If the contracts were smart and "market value" as you claim, the teams would stay in them because they'd be worth it. They don;t, because they're not. They're mistakes, and the guys getting cut well before the deal is up shows that.

It is when the player isn't worth it.

Actually, what I am suggesting is in between. It does exist.

I think this was a terrible contract and one the 49'ers will quickly regret. I'm sorry if the guy is a relative.

The fact that you wrote “this guy” for Kwon Alexander told me all I needed to know

Again, sorry if he's a relative.

He's just not that good.

Maybe someone should have "told you" this too:
