Zach Martin a future HOFer? Is he ROH material?

By the time his career is over he'll be arguably a top 3 guard of all time (in the same tier as Larry Allen and John Hannah)

As for first ballot the hall of fame committee hates interior linemen with a passion, so he needs another solid year or 2 to lock it in first ballot. There also not a huge fan of the cowboys, look at Demarcus Ware getting shafted last year (he was EASILY better than 4 out of the 5 guys they enshrined, they purposely didn't vote him because they didn't want him to have the first ballot label)

You would logically think "no brainer look at his resume now he's first ballot easily" but the hall voters hate interior linemen. For example Alan Faneca has the following accolades (along with playing for a franchise that that the voters show favoritism towards) and it STILL took him 6 attempts to get in.

Captain of the Superbowl winning Steelers team
9x pro bowl
6x first team all-pro
2x second team all pro
All decade team

Not that's not a typo, 6 attempts to get in. He finally got in last year. Add

Martin is a first ballot HOF anyone who says otherwise doesn't watch or understand football.

Unfortunately most of the HOF voters don't understand football because interior lineman with Martins level of accolades (some of which even better) not getting 1st ballot is actually the norm for that position (Alan Faneca, Kevin Mawae, Mike Webster, Dermontti Dawson, Will Shields, John Randle).

Canton hates interior lineman so much that Randall McDaniel (9x first team all-pro, 12x pro bowler) wasn't even first ballot. I'm not kidding o_O

Yes and yes. He's a few steps below Larry Allen but he's definitely our second best guard of all time.

(Me apologies for the spelling of Zach. Like you are so perfect)

Me book discussion group veered off course and talk turned to Cowboys and their stars. Hmmm.
Nobody mentioned Zack Martin as one of our stars.
I find tha shameful, me lords.
9 years and going strong and I believe he can play for four more years!
What a guy. What a player.
HOF first ballot? ROH in the first year of his eligibility?
One of the dumbest threads ever created here. For obvious reasons.

The craziest stat is this superstar having just 7 career holding calls against him in 8 seasons…..that’s insane

Doesn’t matter how good an OL is, it’s much harder to replace a starting QB.

Are you blokes at ease with these figures? I guess considering he is one of several OL men and Dan is the team leader.
Still, a bit jarring at the disparity.

Martin $14 mil a year.
Dak $40 mil a year.

(Cue in the whiners who don't want a Dak thread)

OL doesn’t make QB $ in any city . At 14 million he probably digs graves in the off season job like Richie Hebner the old Pirate used to .

Yes, the disparity. But it just seems strange tha we pay a JAG like Dak 3 times what the most talented OL in the league gets.
I get the positional side of the pay scale, but Dak is making obscene amounts while Martin isn't.
Must be nice being a rich JAG, Deek.
