If Zach Thomas can't play against the Jets this weekend, Derrick Pope will start at weak side linebacker in the Dolphins' 4-3 defense.
Pope will kick inside next to MLB Channing Crowder when coordinator Dom Capers shows a 3-4.
Joey Porter had an interesting observation on Thomas' situation last week: "He kept wanting another mouthpiece. A new mouthpiece always fits tighter. When you have a concussion, you can't bite down as hard."
Might have happened on the blitz pickup by Barber. That's the hardest hit he probably gave/took all day.
