The issue is his neck is a ticking time bomb. The new prognosis hinges on no herniated disks, he plays football and plays LB so herniated disk is in his future just as they were in his past. Herniated disk do not heal they subside. He has had herniated disks and since he did not get any type of discectomy the chances of those same disks rearing their ugly heads is pretty high.

Where does he have the herniated disk? Thought it was a congenital c1 malformation, no?

Don't know if I would sign him but it would be foolish not to bring him in for a look

from OPs link said:
Russell's advice sparked another round of medical evaluations. Orr said several doctors have told him he's at no more risk of serious injury than a player with a fully formed spine. Doctors told Orr their only concern would be if he played with herniated discs. The herniated discs he suffered last season have subsided

He had herniated disks in his neck that exacerbated the issue. My guess is the inflammation went down so they are no longer causing secondary issues but unless they were removed they are just ticking time bombs for his condition.

Is he a SLB? I've only seen him play a couple times and thought he was the Derrick Brooks-type run and hit Will.

In either case, he was in the running for all pro at one point and would offer up a high reward to any team that takes a chance.

Neck injury less of a risk than Jaylons drop foot?

It depends on whether he's as "healed" as his agent and PR team are implying, but sure. He wouldn't have any on-field limitations, and it doesn't sound like the risk of re-injury is as high as someone who suffers from partial paralysis in one foot. Again, that's assuming what his team is putting out isn't BS, which it very well might be.

His neck will never heal. He already suffers from herniated discs that will only exacerbate the problem with his birth defect.

I hope you're a real doctor otherwise you shouldn't be dispensing medical advice, let alone an irrecovable diagnosis.

The diagnosis on his neck is his own. he has admitted to herniated discs in his neck and the are "better herniated discs do not heal over time. the only thing that can get better over time from a herniated disc are the symptoms that there is something wrong in the area. he is a football player the likelihood he will re aggravate those same discs are almost 100%.

his neck is ticking time bomb. Even more unpredictable than spinal stenosis. This kid in all reality could die on the field due to decapitation.
