He is/will be our best Olineman but no chance for ROY, those go to skill players :(

I loved the Fred pick but this guy is amazing. I am all for getting one more off lineman next draft in the first, lets make the next great wall that Berlin would be jealous of.

Great aweosme post!

LOL no more linemen in the 1st round. However, I'd be all for a passrusher or a CB in the first.

Actually I overlooked Evans down in Tampa, but that could well be a trend come time to vote.

I hope Martin wins. I think Martin is deserving. I think there's almost no chance that a guard wins it.

If they're ever going to give it to an OL, this would be a good time to do it. Dallas' OL is one of the story lines of the league this season, and there's no QB stealing the limelight. The WR vote is divided, too. I don't think he gets it, either, but there's a lobby for it that's growing. If we beat the Eagles and get hot, he might have a shot as the resurgence of the old Cowboys will become a consistent story line in that case.

All good rookies. But who has brought it every week this year?

I'd say Martin's been the most consistent but he plays a position where he can be more consistent. Its much harder to be consistent at the skilled positions especially when teams gameplan for you. Very solid rookie class.

We've had OG on the radar in the first round for the last three years with DeCastro and Cooper but Martin was definitely worth the wait.

Don't spend a 1st round pick on a Cover-2 CB. First round picks need to be either on big uglies (offense or defense)...or a QB. When you see what Zach Martin is doing immediatley...not 2 or 3 years down the road...but immediatley....you realize that getting the "right" guy in the trenches...is the smart way to go. Or....or....a QB.

All the old school fans just realize how Romo never had time to pass back in the day. Now days he can go through his progressions. I love it.

I thought I saw Romo not only go through his progressions on those two plays at the end of the game, but he also whipped out his cell phone and checked in on the family, tied his shoes, adjusted his chin strap, and called in the pizza order for after the game. Watch it in slow-mo, you'll see it.

I probably won't happen, but it would be really nice for OLs in general if it did.

There isn't a better rookie this season. When he makes the Pro Bowl, and gets serious All-Pro consideration, it would be a real shame if he wasn't recognized.

If they're ever going to, this looks like the year to do it. I hope they do, and I'm not normally one for giving our guys accolades that make them more expensive to extend, usually. I like them in the conversation, but just outside the money. But for OL everywhere, it'd be cool to give them a sop when it makes so much sense. It's like putting Ray Guy in the HoF giving a little nod to punters in general.

The problem with people seriously giving offensive linemen that kind of recognition is due to the lack of glamour, and complete anonymity of the position when they do well. Martin routinely eliminates his opponent play after play. He's terrific at recognizing stunts, and is a pretty good athlete who blocks well on the second level, and even further downfield on screens. I love Martin as a player - as a Notre Dame homer, I was excited when the Cowboys drafted him.

Two more first round OL and this team is set. Lol. If the BPA in next years draft is a guard or tackle I have no problem selecting him.

Beckham won that one tonight I suspect, even if Martin has probably had a bigger impact.

Not sure about that. He has 41 catches for 609 yards and 5 TDs. I don't think one fabulous catch with those numbers will be enough.

In fact, he's not even the leading receiver among the rookies, with Mike Evans having the same number of receptions for 841 yards and 8 TDs and Kelvin Benjamin with 52 for 768 and 8, etc.

Dont forget Warmack.

And out of those three only Decastro has panned out and he missed a full year. Cooper has only played like 7 something snaps ( or something ridiculously low, and Warmack has been a below average starter.

Good thing we waited
