you know some mentioned how Romo should fall - I don't think it matters - I think ever time he is sacked from now on - I know I will be thinking is he alright or has he broken that collar bone again

Yeah. I'd just replace Tony's entire skeletal system with something ultra-strong and ultra-lightweight. He could play for as long as his brain was still sharp. And hell, at some point, maybe we could dump all his knowledge into an artificial brain and he could play forever.

I like this plan.

Tony's at the age and physical condition where he'll require a capable backup going forward, whomever that may be. Drafting or otherwise acquiring a starting candidate ASAP can't be delayed much longer either. Whether it's to be done this year or next, it's obviously high time for a promising young QB prospect to be introduced and groomed for the Cowboys as an eventual starter.

I questioned them not putting in the plate when he broke it the first time. I think they avoided it because it would have put him out for the season. Now that they're still grasping at straws for the playoffs, they're making the same mistake. Even if they get mathematically eliminated tonight, a doctor will likely have to re-break the bone in order to apply the plat and have it heal correctly. As someone who has had to have a bone re-broken to repair, I don't wish that on anyone.

Just another thing to add to the list of grossly mismanaged situations.

Was thinking the same thing.......The only reason why I don't think they went with the plate is..... if it was broken in 6 places like Jerry said...then perhaps there wasn't anything stable to screw into.:(

Breaking the same bone for the 4th time can't be good....and if the plan is to put a plate on it now...and having to re-break it for a 5th time....@ some point enough is enough. Won't shock me that this injury will be his final undoing.

Well, that would absolutely shock me. Peyton Manning had to have vertebrae fused together and came back and played at a high level. If they put the plate in, I really wouldn't worry too much about it.

That's correct. When a fracture is severely comminuted it can be difficult to apply internal fixation.
