My gosh... Look how he comes off the LOS and just gets by the defender and catches the ball like Dez Bryant himself.

Only our coaches would run an offense that isn’t throwing a guy that is this dangerous in space and that natural at catching the ball.

The LB had no business covering Zeke. He was way to slow to turn his hips and got burnt for a huge gain.

Why is it the natural reaction to our offense throwing the ball deep to Zeke to say that only our offense wouldn't throw the ball deep to Zeke?

We've thrown the ball to Elliott before. We did just last week when he stepped out of bounds on what should have been another TD. Not to mention all the screens we run to him.

The frustration of being a Cowboys fan. You can see the pieces all laid out on the table, but the coaches can't put the puzzle together.

Just with clock management alone, Garrett would blow a game every year.

Jarrad Davis (2017 R1-P21) is a fast LB that is known for his coverage ability. He often covered WRs in college.

In the game he was very impressive getting to the sidelines. He got out to the sidelines to make some plays that most LBs don't make.

People might have exaggerated Zeke's loss of speed.

Dak’s looked the safety off and threw a beauty. Also his footwork was great on that play.
This is one of the few throws I seen him step into it.......all be it only a little step into the throw but way more than his usual off the back foot fading away. It amazes me how the coaches let him continuously get away with that.

Jarrad was 4.62 at a pro day, which usually time faster than the combine. He's still too slow to cover Zeke that deep downfield.

I doubt Zeke has lost much, if any, speed. He just made 23 in July.

That was actually the best route that I've seen Zeke run since he has been on our team. With that said we have not seen many times that Zeke has been lined up as a WR and was the primary. Linehan doesnt have a history of using RBs effectively in the passing game so there is no surprise there. JG as an OC has had history with using RBs in the passing game. If JG is not going to take over as the play caller he needs to mandate a few of these plays a game. Zeke on a LB on any route on our current roster should automatically become the primary receiver.

Great catch and quite possibly the best throw of Dak's career. Best play of the game imo.

Between Zeke and Austin, we should be doin this more often every game. Half of our big plays accounted by them two on deep balls

That’s actually the first time they have thrown Zeke the ball downfield like that.

Yea, can't recall a game we had Zeke run more than a 5-10 yard route.
Usually he's been the safety valve or run screens for him.

Ridiculous statement. Dak steps into his throws many times. Just look at his highlights.

Was just a great throw and catch. How about some credit to Dak for the passes, he threw several nice passes Sunday. He is getting this passing deeper thing down some. Now it’s just about consistency and playcalling.

Previous to that play the deepest pass Zeke has ever caught was 12 yards, so yeah we don't throw deep to Zeke. That pass was 31 air yards.
The LB covered him and most likely expected him to be a decoy, really nothing in his history would have lead him to believe otherwise. The good thing about finally completing that deep pass is now defenses know we will throw deeper passes to Zeke and will have to adjust their coverage, which may help open other routes. Zeke should be a bigger option in our passing game, beyond the dump off and screens and it finally looks like the staff is finally coming around.
