Imagine how much better this team would be if they had a rb who could actually make someone miss. Another putrid effort by the most overpaid rb in league history.

Last night wasn't the barometer to measure Zeke's potential production. Did you watch the game? The game plan was literally was to exploit the secondary and avoid going against the strength of the Bucs defense ( the front seven). Not to mention he had a good game picking up the correct blocks in pass protection. Pick on someone else Zeke played his role last night.

I watched Zeke suck for 10 out his 11 carries. We struggle in the red zone a lot b/c he can't get to the outside or make anyone miss. What were you watching?

Hard to get much when they don't call run plays.
Also...that front line of Tampa is pretty darn good against the run. They held a good number of teams to lower rushing totals and averages last year.

Hard to call run plays when your rb can't shake a tackle or outrun anyone.

You don't understand football. We made no attempt to get the run game going last night. Tampa has probably the best line in the NFL and are much easier to beat through the air. That was the game plan. That's why we passed so much. Was it the best plan? Maybe, maybe not. But it's what we tried and it almost worked.

OP clearly lacks football iq. Vea was throwing our interior guys around like a rag doll and their front seven may be best in the NFL. Pierre Paul, Golston, Barrett, Suh, White, Vea etc etc. No one cares if Zeke impressed the OP or not. The goal was to move the ball and they clearly did that putting up 29 points against the very same D that held Mahomes and the Chiefs to single digits. Offense was great pure and simple.

And this is understanding football? Keep making excuses for the most overrated RB in league history.

He seems to be a between the tackles kind of guy now. The play on the goal line was pretty telling. If he cannot make that guy miss he at the very least needs to run through him.

Getting taken down in the open field by a practice squad CB is pretty alarming.

Did you honestly watch the game? If Pollard or most other RB's are in that game do you have any idea how many times Dak would be flattened? When you have to game plan against a top D in the NFL against the run, and are missing your top linemen, somebody has to step up to protect your asset behind centre. Wanna bet Dak bought Zeke a big steak dinner after the game? If he had 20 carries for 40 yards you may have a point....rewatch the game and reply to me.

After reading all the replies, how has your day been?

Exactly. Remember when they designed plays for Emmitt? "What about the unblocked guy? Oh, that's Emmitt's guy.". They knew Emmitt would make that guy miss.

Zeke is one of the highest paid RBs in the league. He should be able to make a much better effort in the open field than he did on that play.

The Bucs Weakness was attacking through the Air - The Gameplan was sound and a good one - Zeke was a beast blocking for Dak - They had the number one rush D last year and with Martin being out running up the middle towards Vea and Suh would have been dumb - David and White are very good linebackers with speed to get to the edge ! the right move was going pass heavy why is that so hard to understand - Zeke did the dirty work last night and played very well

This wasn't the game for him to him. He blocked well. Time will tell if he has any juice left. Even if he is in much better shape this year, once a player loses that juice they don't get it back. Can he still do the 20 plus yard runs? I thought he moved pretty well last night. Although the rookie year Zeke scores on that goal line play (or at least gets right to the goal line) even with the missed block. Those are the plays that separate the great running backs from everyone else.

The pass was made with Zeke going toward the sideline, Zeke, like pretty much any runner, in order to make people miss needs to be headed upfield. By the time he got the ball he had no time to get upfield. Just not a very good play call...
