Dallas has little control on who they play. This is not CFB where you can schedule tune ups before the "real' part of the schedule starts. Besides the two games that are decided by where you finished the previous year all NFCE teams play the same schedule, 6 from the NFCE, 4 from NFCN, 4 from AFCE. Dallas gets NO and LA Rams. NE gets a slush schedule every year because the teams in the AFCE pretty much suck.
