Zeke and Slow Starts

Zeke has had some slow starts in the 1st game or two throughout his career so it will be interesting to see if that continues. Given that he will be on a reduced workload due to the team trying to ease him in somewhat, it may not be a big problem since they probably already plan on giving Pollard a bulk or at least half of the workload. That will negate having to fully rely on Zeke to work through his early struggles/adaptation and having Pollard taking on a big load in TC will hopefully give the running game a boost.

Zeke is alright, he just needs to get in shape,.. do some swimming .

He needs to dedicate himself. Been saying this since his rookie season.

This year will be bad for him

I reckon around week 6 is when we will see him in full swing

This. I hate to say it, but players rarely stay in NFL shape when training on their own.

People are just going to have to remember to take the long view: it's a 4 year contract, not a 4 game contract.

I blame Zeke's slow starts on the lollipop practices the clubs are now running. Shaquan vs Zeke should be interesting this year. You know they will be trying to out do one another.

But 2019 is a must win now season because we will have to be making some sacrifices this coming March. Some combo of Prescott, Collins, B. Jones, A. Woods, Cobb, Quinn will be lost in FA for financial reasons.

I disagree, Zeke will bust out this first game. I predict that he will get close to 200 yards or more, on just pure carries and his receptions out of the backfield will give him a big total for this game. You will see him breaking some long runs, it quite possibly could end up being a highlight tee game of Zeke and Barkley showing out.
Zeke will rush for over 2,000 this season, my prediction

True, however, the entire offense seems to start out slow, not just Zeke.
I do expect the defense to come out flying and that can be the difference until the offense catches up.

I hope you are right... but I completely disagree...
He is a VERY good RB bug not the best.
All this will have a toll and this will be his worst season yet.

Btw... arent the players salaries becoming wayyy toooo much... it is ridiculous.

The entire team...the entire league starts sluggish. It's got nothing to do with Zeke, he'll be fine.

Might not be ready to handle 30 touches or whatever, but there should be absolutely 0 concern about him.

I am going to agree with you. Last year he was ranked 18 among rushers and led the NFL RB corps in fumbles with 6.
He is definitely out of aerobic shape if nothing else. The guy is an NFL RB, but as far as the best - he's a legend in his own mind.
This board will melt down when he stuffs up after that huge premature contract cave, and JG, being the clapping carrot,
will refuse to replace him with Pollard because Jerry will want to get what he paid for LOL.
.I know how this FO works.......

No one should expect much from Zeke this first game. He's just not in football shape.

I SEE THAT comming.... people think that just becuase he was good last year, he will be good this....
Zeke will be a bust this season

He starts slow because camp cupcake never got him ready to play.

Play calling hasn't always been the best where Zeke is concerned. Hopefully having Kellen as offensive coordinator will help.

He had a slow start his rookie year. The last two years, he's gone 24-104 (4.3) and 15-69-1 (4.6) in season openers.
