Tony Pollard: 130 Attempts 719 Yards 5.5 YPC

Yes, someone in this backfield definitely needs more carries but it’s not 21.

He looks awful and the only reason he got a 1000 was because of the volume he got. He looked like our worst RB last night. Slow, sluggish, and plodding.

Zeke just has zero explosion anymore and his ability to make defenders miss is almost nonexistent at this point.

With that said, he’s going to be RB1 for better or worse so let’s hope he finds some juice in those legs cause we’re gonna need him.

After watching Clement, Hardy and Smith last night, their fresh legs seemed to show an obvious advantage over Zeke after watching him in the same game.

Yep.. Zeke is the definition of leaving meat on the bone and Dallas stubbornness to play others hurts our team.

He does nothing.
And Dak too the blame for him playing hurt. He killed our offense. I have been saying it but his inability to run severely impacted our offense

I was going to ask the same thing. This is not meant to bash Zeke at all, if he is hurt or declining that badly. He does do some things the others can't but unfortunately what I saw was the same team on both sides still out there and after we scored in the early 4th qtr and pulled Zeke the other backs were just getting that extra yardage. Like someone said earlier he cant make anyone miss, doesnt have burst and is 3 to 5yds and a cloud of dust. I would blame the oline on the run game but after watching last night has changed my mind. Begining of year he had a liitle more to him with jump cuts and better burst but at this point its no longer their.

I think zeke needs a better OL and better blocking than pollard and he is a better inside runner. but given that the OL is not playing well, I can't count how many times Zeke got hit in the back field before he got going. those DL men just come through with ease...this is not a defense of Zeke, as he looks a step too slow.....Pollard has the speed to bounce it outside and he has the speed to get to the edge..... I think for the playoffs, we should utilize him more, but long term, you can't just bounce outside every time...Moore needs to go back and figure out how to run more and how to get the ball to Pollard on the edge...some long tosses to either side, allowing pollard to get a head of steam and pick his hole.....

also, not sure what happened to the draw play in our staple of running game....one effective way to slow the rush...

we are stuck with him one more year before we can cut him and his ridiculous cap hit.

That is on coaches to make a change for the better. Zeke could be doing his best but we cant keep forcing him to be who he isn't any longer. This late in the season their is not much that can be done but I would not be unhappy grabbing a RB in the 3rd or 4th rd being Pollard and Zeke could both be gone the following year.

Comple agree. Dak is a different QB when we can run.
runnign effectively on first and second down...specially first down. Dak is good in play action and for play action to work, you can't be in 2nd and 8, 2nd and 9 situations all the time.....its easier to play defense when you know its a pass and you can drop 7 into coverage...

Well it is so darn obviously to even us nonprofessionals that Zeke is not good right now and seems to be hurting the team more than helping. What would Belichik do in this upcoming playoff game. I am going to guess that Zeke’s butt wouldn’t see a play. I know his pass blocking is a beast, but does that outweigh his ineffectiveness in running the rock?

MM you can make a real statement with your upcoming lineup decision!

Save it for a real game.

Having said that...the running game was WAY better against eagle...even without Pollard. Even Zeke.

More push and movement from the line
More space.
More touches for zeke.
Balanced between pass and runs.

Zeke Against the cards...9 for 16 for 1.8 average.

NINE? You kidding me? what would Emmitt do with 9 fracking carries?

one week later:
18 for 87 for 4.8.

Not just this game this is the way Zeke and ANY "big" back works. The proof is right there in front of your face. It's not 2016 form, but he can still be a threat.

And YES! Clement Hardy and Ito looked AWESOME! After Zeke broke them...they got their 8 YPC our "change of pace" #2 are expected to get.
I didn't realize Clement was that TD thrower in Eagles Super Bowl. What a GREAT pickup!

Catch is obsessed and frankly psychotic about Pollard. He's a very fine RB....but won't single handedly be the savior of our season. What a ridiculous notion. Nuts.

I'm glad you guys saw what I did. At first when Zeke wasn't playing bad, I was worried that the team would use this as justification to keep him as getting all of the touches. Then when the 3rd and 4th string RB's came in and looked BETTER it was really obvious just how many yards Zeke leaves on the table. That lack of burst is a killer. Beyond that, he isn't breaking tackles or moving the pile.

This team is ready to jump into the new era of RBBC!
