Talking about shooting yourself in the foot on the NFL's side.

Why on earth they took the approach they did is beyond me.

I can see why they did it but it still doesn't make sense to me why they would destroy their own product as a makeup call for their past failures.
They had a case-closed, slam dunk 6 game case in Josh Brown, but he was just a kicker and a NYG (Friel) so they needed a bigger fish to fry. Elliott was perfect. He checked all the boxes for public outrage, black man accused by a white girl, star player, plays for the most hated team, and would help Friel's Giants.

I said this yesterday as well, he had an amazing game, this is why YPC stats mean nothing, you would think from his 3.5 YPC he had a poor game. But is such a great situational player, knows what we need and goes and gets it. Turns negative runs into 2-5 yard gains. Just missing the explosive plays. Also so durable.

He was facing 8 man boxes consistently all game. They literally game planned to shut him down. If Morris was playing would he command that respect? No. He would also be running against 6-7 man boxes, so he would presumably put up pretty good stats. But if a team game planned to take him out of the game, they would succeed. Zeke is special.
Chiefs were pretty clear after the game that they put all their focus into stopping the run. Which makes what Zeke did even better imho. The chiefs are a very good defensive team, they loaded to stop the run and he still almost got 100 yards and was the key reason we sustained long drives. Scary thing was that the Chiefs reportedly 'pretty happy' with how well they contained Elliot. Teams think they have done a good job when they keep him under 120 yards.. that is truly incredible. I would have him in the top 10 in the league easily. Bell is the only other RB that goes close to him in output right now.

Our season literally hangs on the court ruling and I think the team know it. We lose Zeke and we are no chance, absolutely zero chance of making play offs. Pray to all that is fair that he wins the injunction.

He was unreal yesterday. Really is everything you want in a tailback.

If the defense keeps playing like they have the last 3 games, we will make the playoffs with or without Zeke.

I agree. Morris and McFadden will be good enough to secure a wildcard spot if the defense keeps playing like they did Sunday.

And with the timing of Zeke’s court case, even if h loses he will be back by the second to last game, maybe the last game.

I do not believe for a minute t hat suspending Elliott is a make up call for Rice or Brown. This is far too personal.

What I love is he makes 2 yd runs into 5 yd runs
Yes, this rare trait is mentioned by some but it truly is what separates Zeke from being just good to special.
Coach Garrett calls them the dirty yards.

Adrian Peterson in his prime yes, but nobody else turns a negative to one yard run into a 4 yard gain like Zeke does.

And he does it so often you almost take it for granted.

That is his greatness.

I said it yesterday and I'll say it again, it is such a pleasure watching this young man dance and move with the ball in his hand. He is incredibly smooth with the ball in his hands.

respectfully disagree. The defence is rolling right now which is great and finally show signs of being a 'self supporting' entity however I believe we will see the same signs of weakness if we lose Zeke.

Our defence looks good when they get long rest periods (ie we own TOP) and when we 'win' the field position battle. When we fail to maintain the ball, ie don't convert the 3rd and shorts, then the defence looks suspect.

We haven't had to test the theory yet and I hope I am wrong.. but that is just how I see it. See 2015 season for the example.. so close in so many games but just couldn't hold the ball long enough to keep the D off the field.

Dak is not Weeden, Cassell or Moore.

I also like to watch Zeke when he doesn't get the ball...he regularly chips the DEs to Dak's blind side, sometimes taking big hits on them before he runs out to the flat...that extra 1 to 2 seconds makes Dak THAT much more effective...

It felt like he had more yards on less carries.

The stat sheet afterward was honestly a little perplexing.
