Zeke needs to improve as a receiver

He needs to become an Alvin Kamara/Le'veon Bell level receiver. The Cowboys spent the 4th overall pick on him. Running the ball behind an elite o-line that Murray and even McFadden had success with and blitz pickup isn't enough to justify the pick.

He'll never be those. He's a good screen HB, but he's simply not a big time receiving back.

....and that's okay. Find a good HB for that role.

What if he already is but his coach doesn’t use him that way? Ever thought of that?
He has gone wide before and they never even looked his way happened 3 times on one drive right before suspension.

Been saying it for the last few years as people have said we need to use him more in the passing game. He's literally never done it. Didn't do it in college so I have no idea why people think he has those skills. It appears he doesn't.

I don’t think it’s EE I think it is Scott doesn’t design those types of plays like Payton does. I remember Murray being a darn good receiver at OU but never got used like that in Dallas. The talent on this team is underutilized and a lot of times not used correctly.

He's not the issue. Coaches have to make an effort to use him in the passing game.

Zeke is not a big play receiver in the passing game. He catches the swing pass or the screen, but he’s a speed and power guy. He’s not as straight line as Hershall Walker, but he’s not elusive.

Our backup RBs are sad. I’ll be surprised if Morris is in the league next year, and Smith is a role player. RBs are abundant, and everyone finds quality throughout the draft, so no one wants a Morris. YOUTH, SPEED, ELUSIVENESS.

Dallas needs a third down big play type back, not an extra blocker. Zeke should get his break with a change of pace back in situations, not with a backup taking carries for 2-3 series, especially backups who are not quality RBs.

You didn't bother to listen to the Ohio State coach?

The one who said Ezee could've been the best receiver on the team?

I don't care what he said. The simple fact is, he has never been a receiver like that.

I'm not talking about taking screens, I'm talking running a route tree like receiving backs do. If you have tape of him doing that and not a coach touting his former RB, I would like to see.

Thanks.
