Comparing any running back's pass blocking ability to Zeke's is kinda pointless.
With that said; Pollard is not as good as a pass blocker as he could be because he sometimes do not recognize where the pressure is coming from.
DeMarco was the best at chipping that Ive seen from the RB position in Dallas.Yeah I agree that Pollard's recognition is an even bigger issue than his lack of heft. Like with the Ramsey sack a few weeks ago it seemed obvious that was where blitz was coming from and Pollard never looked at him. But where the lack of upper body strength really comes into play is on chips. When Zeke puts a shoulder into a DE that DE feels it. With Pollard I'm not so sure the DE even notices that he's been chipped.
Exactly. We don’t need a repeat of last year. We could have rested him during that thanksgiving stretch but decided to let him go , which left him limping the rest of the year. This is a bit different but great opportunity to get him multiple weeks rest and ready for the second half. We can go one game without him. TP can carry the load for one game.Rest Zeke please. Nobody wants to see him limping around the rest of the season. I think we can jigger it to get through Chicago.. Or maybe just let Dak throw it 45 times and try to stay away from short yardage situations.
What in the sam hill are you talking about?Playing through pain is a part of life.
Be different Zeke. Be tough. Set an example.
So when push comes to shove its Zeke that cant handle his load, not Pollard. 2 years in a row now. The irony is thick.
Last season, we featured Zeke in the running game despite his ineffectiveness. Later we find out that Zeke had been playing most of the season on a bad knee. I love Zeke but couldn't understand why he was getting most of the carries.Players don;t get to decide. But of course MOST players WANT to play. Some won;t play because a hangnail (AKA "business decision").
Zeke will want to play. If the doctors, trainers, coaches, and Jerry are doing their job, they will keep him out if th einjury calls for it. If not, they aren;t doin gtheir job.
Last year, they didn;t do their job.
It's not up to Zeke. or it shoudn't be, in a competent organization. That wouldn't be zeke's fault.
The hit he took and then kept playing would put most in the hospital.Playing through pain is a part of life.
Be different Zeke. Be tough. Set an example.
Last season I think his toughness was to our detriment. He was clearly limping and not himself. The hit he took and then kept playing would put most in the hospital.
There should be no debate on his toughness.
I agree 100%.Last season I think his toughness was to our detriment. He was clearly limping and not himself.
If he can truly play and look normal while running then he should play. However, if he cannot then the coaches should protect him from himself.
But we dont know who gave to go ahead.Last season, we featured Zeke in the running game despite his ineffectiveness. Later we find out that Zeke had been playing most of the season on a bad knee. I love Zeke but couldn't understand why he was getting most of the carries.
