The answer is no and you knew it before posting.

IT should be definitely no by everyone. But I always like to get these scenarios out of the way early and the opinions. I have seen too many times these things actually happen and some will come out championing the move as great simply because the Cowboys did it.

What about Romo returning kicks?

Just throwing that out there to "here" the opinions.

"Here" too funny didnt catch that one.

He was back fielding kickoffs in practice. Dont think I ever heard Romo doing that.

It took harris a while to figure it out. Harris was cut for being out of shape during his first season and then brought back and put on the practice squad only to be activated because of injury. Lucky Whitehead is already playing in the offense.

I think lucky will be one of the most improved players of the season. He has a chance to return all kicks and become a specialized weapon on offense.

Yes, I meant that Harris established himself as a mainstay and I believe Lucky can do the same thing. Sometimes it seems like we expect these guys to be fully formed their first year or not improve from that freshman effort.

I don't discount that Lucky could take a step back or someone could look so good returning kicks that he's beaten out, but right now, I certainly consider it his job to lose.

They had him back practicing fielding kicks one day. Just sayin.

Didn't see that.

We've used starters there before on a limited basis, but generally have avoided it. The last full-time starter I can remember being a full-time returns was Neon Deion. So, I would guess there could be a consideration to use Elliott there in certain situations if he's that much better than any other return options.

Sweet baby Jesus......Please let these words never be spoken again unless it's the NFC Championship game or the Super Bowl. Then it's allowed.

Lets here the opinions on this one. Who here would like to see Zeke back returning kicks?

I can tell you straight up that I think the coaches would be foolish to do it. No different then when they and Dez back there doing it. In the playoffs......I could live with it. Regular season no way.

Get real.

Put me down for a hard yes.

The difference between Dez Bryant returning punts years ago and Zeke returning kicks now, is that we had nobody on the roster (and still don't) besides Dez who could command double teams and strike fear in opposing secondaries. Conversely, we probably have the deepest backfield in the league. McFadden would have challenged for the rushing title last year had he started the first 6 games of the season, and Alfred Morris is somebody who HAS led the league in rushing once already -- both are under 30.

If Zeke were to get hurt returning kicks it would be unfortunate, but not debilitating. If the coaching staff truly believe special teams is the third phase of the game then they need to pay more than lip service and put the best players on the field, just like Pittsburgh, Arizona, and New England do -- teams that are coincidentally in the playoffs every year.

Losing a player you invested a top 5 pick on to a KO return would be debilitating. I find it absurd that some want to use Zeke to return kicks when the league is taking steps to move away from kick returns due to serious injury concerns. it would be beyond stupid to use one of your top players to return kicks. Stick a 6th round pick or an undrafted free-agent back there not the 4th overall pick.

They need to find someone to do it that won't cripple our offense if he gets hurt. Without him the running game will suffer and it will be an all out assault against Tony. Just saw what that will do last year. No thanks.

In what way would it be debilitating? Is there any reason to believe we wouldn't be able to run the ball with Alfred Morris and Darren McFadden behind 4 lineman that either have the words "All-Pro" or Pro Bowler" appear on their resume?

More like last year when Joseph Randle was the starter. Last year we had the 4th leading rusher in the entire league last year once Randle took a seat then cleared out his locker.

As deep as we are at RB, I say go for it. Zeke should be an amazing returner and if he gets hurt, we still have our veteran 1000 yard rusher McFadden. Zeke is young and invincible in his mind, let him play that way.
