Zeke cant touch the ball 30 times a game if you expect the man to have any sort of decent career in the NFL. Zeke runs way to brutal for that.

I sure hope boy genius can teach Dak how to throw the ball down the field or something.

I would love to see my man not have to carry the team on his back each and every week

Zeke's running style is the only limiting factor for his longevity. He is way to physical and does not avoid hits. This is the #1 reason why i am an advocate for not extending him.

When he falls, it will be off a cliff.

We need to copy Mcvay
....3 to 4 wide to get 7/8 out of the box
....and they only run gurley when #'s work

I don't disagree with you, but even when the offense was thriving in 2016 a lot of fans were complaining that Zeke wasn't being used as a receiver enough, so fans were pushing for him to get those 30 touches a game.

We need to get a legitamate #2 like the Saints do with Ingram and Kamara..

Grab Duke Johnson from the Browns hes my pet cat and is just a small drop off from Zeke

Hell even the Rams needed a big boy in CJ anderson when Gurley started getting bogged down with his touches...

For some reason we are hell bent on absolutely destroying Zeke

This is why I sign him now.

Get out of the Zeke market by the time he is 28.

That way we can franchise tag him if need be to get another year before 30.

Pay for Zeke now when he is 27 then who knows.. Maybe we trade him for a first rounder or a couple of picks when he's that age.

If I were the front office Dak wouldn't be my concern until I figure out how to pay these other guys.

So give an RB a big contract just to see him on the sideline in the most important games? Great strategy, cotton. I wonder how this will work out rather than using that money on something more valuable?

You don’t play someone thinking about their longevity. You think about the NOW. I’m not concerned with him 10 years ago.

When you hand out a contract, that's a future investment.

Glad to see your riveting takes as always, rocyaice.

there is now way zeke should be given a second contract they should let his contract play out then franchise him then draft a replacement

For his career, Zeke is averaging 21.7 rushing-attempts and 3.375 pass-receptions (4.3 targets) per game.

He’s hardly being overworked.

Do agree that his durability going forward should be considered in any LT contract offer.

Zeke is the next AP. He'll play well into his 30s at a decent level of production, barring catastrophic injury.

This really doesn't say much unless you show how this compares to other RBs in the league.

If you need comparisons, go to Pro Football Reference and look ‘em up yourself.

Yeah, took a whole 5 seconds to do - so I guess there was a reason you did this. Zeke has been at the top 2 out of three seasons

https://www.teamrankings.com/nfl/player-stat/rushing-plays?rate=per-game&season_id=14

2016 he had 21.50 carries a game while Bell had 21.73
2017 he had 24.20 carries a game (didn't play the full season)
2018 he had 20.59 (the closest RB behind him had 17 carries a game)

This is an issue with Zeke, he needs 20+ carries a game to get his big yards.

Adrian Peterson is a freak.

Showed up at OU at 18 years old and out-benched and out-squatted the entire team, including linemen. Came back from ACL surgery in 8 months and rushed for 2,000 yards. Has never had a single ounce of unhealthy bodyfat in his life.

Zeke is no Adrian Peterson. He's already slowing down, couldn't break away last year. He's really good, but he's not going to last very long in this league.

He'll be nothing more than a guy by year 7.

I would agree had they not invested a top 5 pick.

If Jason Garrett is running the show do you really not want an elite back with Dak Prescott throwing the rock?

I think not.

Elliot is basically our QB now. He's our Romo. Pay the guy and move on.

If we had an elite QB i'd trade him if need be but since we don't he is our best chance at success.

Pay Zeke and move on. He deserves a 2nd contract 100%.

Zeke may have a short career anyway 4 years plus one option year and I want be surprised at age 27 hes somewhere else due to the dollars.
You can return to the draft and look RB and save huge. That might be where things are heading.
