Well that destroys every narrative i heard on here for zeke, not even a saving grace on pass pro
This won change anything, the front office is going to restructure his contract because he knows the offense, the QB likes him and has a role.

Pollard and fresh legs from the draft. Let Malik Davis compete with that rookie in camp for the #2 spot. There just is no reason to keep Ezekiel Elliott any longer.
I’m not even sure you bring him back unless it’s a short deal.

It doesn't take a lot of analysis to see that Zeke is washed up. His yards per carry has been decreasing steadily for years, with the exception of last year where he had a slight bump up. But the problem is his salary. He was overpaid then and now he is really overpaid. They have him in as a battering ram to get 1 yard.

Jerry made a mistake drafting Zeke. He made a mistake giving him a second contract, and he made a mistake making that contract for too much money when the whole league could see the RB position value was decreasing rapidly. Now, they have no choice but to release him and eat lots of dead money.

Remember when Zeke's snaps were trying to be justified because of pass blocking?
I've defended Elliott because I believed that we were better off having both him and Pollard than we were overworking Pollard. Injuries and Pollard being slowed by a heavy workload (when burst is his superpower) were legitimate concerns. However, I also thought that Elliott was still good enough to be worthy of sharing the load. I was wrong about that. For the first part of the 2021 season before he got injured, Elliott had looked like he recaptured his form (anyone who denies that just doesn't like him). I thought he could do it again this year, but it appears the wall has won. Even though he says he's willing to take a pay cut to stay, which I had been for, I think we're better off moving on and using a draft pick to pair with Pollard next year.
