That theory didn't really work out well in the initial investigation and subsequent ruling. No news is good news.
Waiting for the 5th circuit to render their judgement on the NFL's request.Soooooo...................
Why the sudden complete silence? I thought we were supposed to hear something by now.
Actually it did. They just went against their own lead investigator. That theory didn't really work out well in the initial investigation and subsequent ruling.
Appellate courts never make oral announcements on their decisions. They decide, then assign one of the judges who voted with the majority to write the opinion stating the decision and the legal basis and reasoning for that decision. It takes a while to sort it out and put it into precise legal reasons that can be understood on specific points of law. (Law clerks do most of the research and heavy writing.) But, given the high-profile of this case, I would expect a ruling by Friday.
Dallas is off for a bye week. Just as they practice for next game the push will be on again.Soooooo...................

We'd be 0-5 though.meh, in hindsight, having the 6 game suspension coming towards an end now would be ideal, as opposed to this lingering.

Care to predict outcome? Jurisdiction or not?
Impossible to be sure what a Court of Appeals will do. I think it hinges on the arbitrator. If they see Henderson as an NFL employee or stooge, the timing of his decision would be immaterial as to when Zeke filed. If Henderson has ever vacated a suspension, I'm not aware of it. That, by itself, would tell a reasonable person that the process is rigged againt the players and that the court system is a player's only remedy for lost income and character assasination.
And, given that the NFL filed in New York before the Texas court ruled, makes it look like the NFL is really just "forum shopping" instead of truly arguing subject matter jurisdiction. (The NFL seems to be arguing out of both sides of their mouth. Saying that this is not a court matter because it was collectively bargained, and then filing their own petition in another court.)
In short, if I were a betting man, my mony would be on the COA denying the NFL's motion and allowing the Texas court to proceed on hearing to determine if the temporary injunction should be made permanent.
Well stated, and I fully agree. I feel that the proceedings will continue in Texas. Also something about Texas won't bend to ear pinching attempts.
Yet we hear that one of the judges is 100% in line with the NFL, or at least seemed to be during the proceedings. I admit I haven't listened and get all my news right here on CZ.

Thanks. The female judge is for sure not so much FOR the NFL but against Zeke (she is one of those that always believe the woman in any case)
One judge seems sympathetic to the NFLPA. The third - really gave no hints.
If they rule against Zeke and NFLPA if I were them I would ask for a hearing before the entire Court. They would have a better chance of winning there. And if it is a 2-1 decision as it looks like it will be, they have a decent shot at it.
