This stuff should never be released until an investigation is completed. If found innocent, the first story that comes out should cite the lie. If guilty, tar and feather them by all means. Of course that will never happen.

No idea if this is true or not, but this is becoming a trend. No, not players physically abusing their gfs or wives....but women going to Instagram and posting images of bruises and making the claim that a player beat them up. Every year it seems several teams have this happen to a player, Skins had it happen last year to Jamison Crowder. If it were true I had zero problem with the team cutting him outright, but the team and the NFL did a lengthy investigation, basically found nothing to warrant any action by anyone, and the woman never followed up on the accusations--maybe because she was paid, I dunno. You can pay someone off and still be innocent, though.

I wouldn't worry yet...I'd just sit tight and see what develops...

While that is true its also true that historically powerful and rich men have been able to squash these things and attack the victims. So if a person has been abused something like social media is a tool to expose and level the playing field.

Two years ago the ravens owner, front office and head coach said Ray Rice did nothing wrong and tried to sweep it under the rug until it was exposed as a lie. Without that video and social media for everyone to see it Ray Rice did nothing wrong.

In the social media era anybody can release anything. All you need is to get on line.

That is true. Im just saying if the witnesses were friends of his or something of that nature I am sure no one is turning on him.

Why would his friends be in the car with her then, unless they are friends of both...then why would they lie for him or her. If they were more her friends, then why not lie for her.
Perhaps they are just decent people telling the truth.

What male athlete has become the "victim"

Give me names, ding dong. I will wait. There is no problem with "victim blaming" in the media, there is issue of the media jumping the gun. Remember Mattress Girl? If you're not going to post something makes sense, just deactivate.

Uh, the one you just posted about? Zeke-the victim of a money hungry ex?

No need for name-calling, pal--its possible to have an adult discussion without throwing mud. Then again, considering your posts here, that may be an unrealistic expectation

He didn't do anything wrong and it was proven apparently that he did not. I really hope that happens again.

However, to be so naive that you think powerful men and sometimes powerful women have not had the upper hand in squashing this type of thing is foolish. If you are abused by someone like that who is beloved by the public and know that if you come forward you will be attacked I imagine having social media is a good way to level the playing field and show the public who the person really is.

again, hopefully this is all a money grab or an attack on his character to make him look bad.

He should not be doing interviews. He should be consulting with a lawyer.

Well in these days, you almost have to do interviews for damage control. You really don't think he doesn't already have a lawyer in his ear about this? He can easily do both.

Could be and hopefully so. Seems pretty common a guy and his girlfriend would be hanging out with their friends.

I'm still shocked anyone thinks domestic abuse is "trivialized". Unreal. Some of the most popular stories every year, at least the last few years, have been accusations of abuse. From Ray Rice, to Greg Hardy, Hope Solo, Kesha, and Johnny Depp. So, "trivialized"? Have any of you went to some of these men's twitters after being accused? These become witch hunts. "Trivialized", unreal. If people being skeptical is grounds for that, fine. I will always be skeptical until evidence is brought forth that proves or disproves accusations. Media fuels this nonsense and it needs to stop. Let investigators do their job, and I'm not talking about NFL "investigators".

I asked you a question: Give me a list of athletes that were accused of abusing a woman that became a "victim" by the media. Do you have a list of names or not?

If you can't provide any names, admit that the "victim blaming" is not a damn issue. Court of public opinion is, witch hunts are, playing judge, jury, and executioner on social media outlets is a huge problem.
