NO WAY we give up that much...the new draft chart shows:

5th pick = 1675
22nd = 920
28th = 770
Total = 1690

So you are saying we give them 15 points, Spears, and 2nd Rd pic in 09....Forget it!!!

Your correct, however the ONE thing we all have to remember is HOW MUCH Mr. Jones REALLY wants to select DMAC......he loves the player and will do anything within reason to make it happen.

I believe we are really cutting ourselves short if we totally dismiss these rumors.

Where there is smoke.......well you know.

DT Marcus Spears (important piece to replace Jared Allen).:) I am not joking......my insiders gave me this information 30 min ago!

Allen is an edge rusher. Spears is not. To me, Spears fits a 3 technique DT in a 43, not a DE edge rushing role. I don't think he would fit as a replacement for Allen. JMO

I don't think Jerry does something like this...now if DMAC slides past the Jets...then I expect him to make a big push to get him, but anything above that is to much to give up.

If we give up anything more then our two first for DMAC I will scream...you will hear me from Oregon. I don't even want to give up two firsts because we are so desperate at CB...but I could live with it as long as it was not more then that.

i just don't see them as a possible trading partner since they just got more picks from trading jared allen. we either have to trade with oakland or new england if the jets do the smart thing and pass on him and get a pass rusher.

If this happens I will throw up, unless McFadden can play CB

what if we get PACMAN? Will that make you feel better about it?

I don't trust him...if I knew Pacman would play this entire year without being in jail, and more importantly get reinstated, then I could be more open to it, but no one can say he will be.

Plus adding next years 2nd...that's just to much.

If the issues with Pacman are settled , and he signs, maybe.

I still think it's too high of a price , but maybe.

If the Pacman deal falls thru , No Way!!!!!! should we even think about it.

More imp needs to address.

JMO you understand.

Let me put it another way...

If we could walk away from this draft without giving up picks for next year, and possibly trade either Carpenter or Akin....AND walk away with only DMAC, Cason, and a solid WR like Avery, Bennett, or Royal (as development WR, and returners)...I would be happy with that.

Two considerations...I love having MBIII, and having two highly paid RB's does not make sense. The other I don't think we will have many roster spots open this year, so only landing 3 or 4 quality players makes sense this year.

From what I've read, most of the talk is that the Raiders won't take him at
#4.

In fact Don Banks said yesterday he was as certain as you can be when Al is involved that the Raiders won't take him at #4 and will either go defense or try and trade the pick to a team looking to move up for DMac or Ryan (if he's there).

What if Cason can't play corner in this league? What if DRC, Talib, and Flowers can't play corner in this league?

I am willing to bet McFadden has a bigger impact in the NFL then these late round corners.

Any takers?

Zoners: with the 5th pick in the 2008 NFL draft the Kansas City Chiefs trade with the Americas Team, 5-time Super Bowl Champion, Dallas Cowboys their 5th pick for the Cowboys #22 and #28 in 2008.....their 2nd rd pk in 2009 draft and DT Marcus Spears (important piece to replace Jared Allen).:)

The Dallas Cowboys select............well anyone who has ever read this board knows who we select! :bow:

My esteemed and good friend Crazy.
Your insider sources are drunk.
Not that there is anything wrong with that.
But, Jerra has come of age.
He will make judicious and wise choices with 22 and 28. He knows he has needs at CB, WR and RB and maybe safety and defensive front.
Noooooooooo, my friend, the Chiefs will hang on to their pick and the Cowboys will pick accordingly and wisely.

You get the popcorn and I will get the beer. Gonna be a fun weekend, my CrazyCowboy pal.:)

Al Davis is our only hope. otherwise no Dmac,no vet wr, and probably another 1 and done in the playoffs. I'm getting the feeling i'm gonna be in a bad mood on saturday.
