With Priest Holmes cleared for practice, the Chiefs solved a logjam at running back by sending Michael Bennett to Tampa Bay, according to a report in the Kansas City Star.

Bennett told the paper Monday night, "It was a shock to me. It really caught me off-guard. I heard the speculation for the past few days, but nobody from the Chiefs said anything to me, so I guessed it wasn't going to happen. I was wrong. It's a business. It's just one of those things that happen."
He says both teams have informed him of the deal, but there's been no confirmation from either team.

It's also not clear what the Chiefs get in return.

Bennett started in the preseason, but moved to a backup role when Larry Johnson ended his holdout and signed an extension.

The return of Holmes made his role even murkier.

Bennett was pretty RB for Vikings back in 2002, gaining nearly 1300 rushing yards. It's a good pick up for Bucs.

I hope James gets a clean shot to smash AD so hard that AD will be pissing all over himself.
